Guest guest
Ok, so I make green tea for us and I was looking at one of the tea bag instructions and it tells me that I need 8 oz of hot water per bag. Now I make it is gallons, so it is telling me that I need 16 bags to make a gallon? I use 7 bags and they do not make family size bags in green tea. How do you make your tea? Guest guest
I usually use 10 bags in a gallon jar when I make sun tea. Guest guest
16 bags is correct but if you make such quantities it is best to buy loose leaf green tea. , Valerie Cropsey <fantsybeads wrote: > > Ok, so I make green tea for us and I was looking at one of the tea bag instructions and it tells me that I need 8 oz of hot water per bag. Guest guest
I am not good at making tea, yet I think that 16 bags sounds like too much. I have made sun tea in a huge ball jar and I think we used 10 bags, tops. Guest guest
I'm new to this group, but I'll give this one a shot. I generally make hot tea one cup at a time, but when I make iced tea I use a iced tea maker. Green tea is really good iced. The maker uses 4 tea bags for quarts of water and ice. I think 16 tea bags per gallon would be VERY strong tea. It greatly depends on how long you let is steep. Loose tea tastes best by far, but tea bags are much more convenient. I suggest trying 8 or 10 tea bags per gallon and modify from there. Just my 2 cents...
