Brown rice syrup versus barley malt

Does anyone know how barley malt compares to brown rice syrup in taste and

sweetness? My favorite cookie recipe uses brown rice syrup as a sweetener, but I

am currently out of it and I have some barley malt that I have never tried. The

cookies have nuts and chocolate chips and orange and so are very flavorful apart

from the brown rice syrup.

Thanks,

Starshine

I have tasted both. They are similar in the sense that neither is

very sweet, and both are pretty thick syrups, so they have a similar

body/consistency. Malt tastes better to me and I think it would go

well with the other ingredients you mentioned. Malt tends to be a

little darker but it might depend on the type of malt (I used to brew

beer).
