Guest guest
I'm allergic to cow's milk since birth. I sure don't care for goat or sheep milk so it would be nice if it were the other way around. Guest guest
I'm probably one of the odd ball, worst cases. Currently I'm allergic to dairy, beef, chicken, rice, mushrooms, tree nuts, PLUS have an extreme intolerance of anything corn (corn syrup, etc) - my allergist has figured out I am intolerant to fructose. I also can't eat too many high carb foods such as pasta and bread due to an intolerance of high amounts of those. On the plus side, I just gained back carrots, bananas, potatoes, and strawberries after my body was rebelling against those for about 3 years. I actually found out I had food allergies after deciding to become vegetarian about 5 years ago and was eating more meat subs which at the time were loaded with corn. I just realized Boca has some products I can tolerate now without it, so I'm hopefully this vegetarian situation will get easier. I gave up on trying to be vegetarian for a while due to the allergies, then once the beef and chicken tested positive this year, figured it was a sign I needed to go back. Guest guest
In our house we have a ton of allergies--lots of outside ones, but a bunch of food allergies including: wheat, oats, spinach, celery, yams, peas, shellfish, all nuts except almonds, chocolate (the most ignored allergy in the house--in moderation of course), tea, coffee (different people for the last two so each drinks the one she can), tomatoes, and citrus. I am certain I left some things out, but those are the ones we really work to avoid. Most of the symptoms are gastro in origin, but I do have mouth blisters with tomatoes and wheat and hives from shellfish. We also have allergies to medical dye contrast, morphine, and hypersensitivities to Benadryl, but that's another story. Jeanne

Guest guest
I'm allergic to glycerine, glycerol, glycol, strawberries, yeast, eggs and it's looking like cow's milk too now. My beliefs aren't vegan, just strict vegetarian, but I'm beginning to think they may as well be - I guess my path was chosen for me. What ever I eat I have to make sure I don't eat to much too often or I end up with more allergies - thankfully chocolate doesn't apply Sandy - portia Thursday, May 15, 2008 4:03 AM what are members food allergies????? Guest guest
Interesting that you posted this - I just had a localized allergic reataction on Monday evening. Chopping/slicing veges! I first of all made a dish of beautiful beefsteak tomatos w/ cucumbers, scallions, fresh basil tossed with some spices and balsamic vinager. Then I sliced some zuchini, yellow squash, more scallion and a few mushrooms that I put on to saute. By that time (less than 30 minutes) my fingertips in my left hand starting tingling, had a shiny appearance. Could not bend my knuckles, felt swollen yet other than the shiny appearance - no one would have known anything was going on with my fingers. Felt swollen, tingly and very stiff. I took some benadryl and called my kids in to watch me until my hubby got home! So, I have since sliced tomatoes, no reaction. The next day scallions and no reaction. I hope to try the other 3 items tomorrow - spaced out during the day. So weird! I have no idea why or if it will even happen again. Pretty scary though and even worse - everything was beautiful and I was afraid to even try a bite.... Valerie in FL
