Guest guest
Take rice, heat it and pour rice milk or soy milk on it, slice up a banana, toss in some raisins and sprinkle with cinnamon, cardamom and a little brown sugar. One great breakfast. Donna Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile glpveg4life Sun, 18 May 2008 16:51:21 Re: Leftover Rice for Breakfast - any ideas please? Carolyn: I hope you enjoy your breakfast. Guest guest
You can make stir fry the veggies and add to the rice. If you have any veggie sausage this can be added. Then just microwave at work. You can also add dried fruit to the left over rice with some cinnamon, makes for a tasty meal. Gayle **************Wondering what's for Dinner Tonight? Get new twists on family favorites at AOL Food. Guest guest
After a veggie curry and rice today I have loads of rice leftover and as I have nothing planned for breakfast thought I would do as so many of the world’s population do and have rice for breakfast tomorrow, but I have no idea what with, or how. I eat my breakfast in work, so it has to be portable, but can be hot or cold as we have a microwave. And it has to use store cupboard ingredients (I have plenty of fresh veggies too) as I cant get to the shops tonight. Any ideas anyone please??? I know it is a bit of a tall order but thought if anyone can come up with something, you guys here would :-) Thanks. Carolyn Checked by AVG. Guest guest
Oh thanks Gayle, I particularly like the dried fruit idea, that sounds lovely! And I am feeling lazy and don’t want to start stir frying at 8.30 on a Sunday evening, whereas the fruit and cinnamon I can do in a jiffy :-). Thanks again Gayle Carolyn _____ On Behalf Of glpveg4life 18 May 2008 20:17 Re: Leftover Rice for Breakfast - any ideas please? You can make stir fry the veggies and add to the rice. Guest guest
This isn't breakfast, but your post reminded me I had just seen it in a Thai cookbook I got through Freecycle. Its for Kao Tung (rice crusts) 'A great use for leftover ride. Serve with curries, soups, or (#*($)#$)#. 1. Spread the thinnest possible layer of cooked rice on an ungreased baking sheet. 2. Bake at 150º for several hours until crisp. 3. Guest guest
Thanks Gayle – when I went to do it the top was off the cinnamon so I had to throw it away :-( so instead I used a little ground ginger and a TINY bit of cloves, and it tasted good, so I am sure I will enjoy it tomorrow, I will let you know :-). Oh, and I have put cinnamon on my list for groceries this week :-). Guest guest
My favorite especially during summer. I put strawberries with sour cream (vegan) in a blender and make kind of smoothie. I sometimes add sugar to taste. You can make it according to your taste preference and use any other fruits. Then pour it on your rice. Guest guest
I love leftover rice for breakfast, with my favorite veggies, onions, cilantro, avocado and let all mix in a hot skillet and then add some svambled eggs.
