Guest guest
I love my Vitamix, because it makes everything from pureed veggies for my baby to hummus or pesto for my dinner guests. It makes icy smoothies or frozen fruity drinks in the summer and hot soups in the winter. It even makes yummy cheese or chocolate fondue and can grind grains for making bread. It is truly a workhorse for which I am grateful! And it cleans in literally less than one minute. Can't wait to hear aobut yours! Guest guest
Other than the usual appliances, like my gas stove, my favorite appliances are: 1. My Vitamix. I use this every day, often several times a day, to make smoothies, blended soup, hummous, grind spices, etc. In fact, since I got my Vitamix I never use my Cuisinart food processor anymore. 2. My Zojirushi rice cooker. I love that I can throw rice in the night before and have rice for breakfast. It keeps the rice warm and moist all day. (You can go for days, but one day is my limit.) It has settings for different kinds of rice, including Gaba brown. I always use brown rice or a mix. Lately I've been throwing in a teaspoon of Better Than Boullion and chopped carrot and celery. It comes out perfect every time and my kids like to have a bowl of rice when they get home from school. Or, in the mornings, they will sometimes scoop a bowl of rice out of the cooker and add shredded cheese and sausage (my vegetarian daughter adds faux sausage). I use this appliance several times a week. 3. My Black & Decker Vegetable Steamer. Oh, I LOVE this! I bought it on Donna's recomendation and I now actually steam foods. (It was such a bother before.) My kids use this to steam perfect pot stickers (like the frozen vegetarian pot stickers from Trader Joes) and the come out perfectly. I use it to steam all sorts of veggies. This is a fun question! I have other appliances I don't use much. I also have gadgets I love to use, but I figured if it doesn't use electricity, it's probably not an appliance, but a gadget :-) Sharon wwjd wrote: > Time for another Question of the Week >
Guest guest
My favorite appliances are in this order: 1. dishwasher--not me, the one made by Kenmore--a place to hide dirty dishes 2. my gas cooktop/electric convection range--it is a Bosch and it is wonderful 3. my washing machine--clothes type just because I like to take good care of clothing 4. my cuisinart food processor--makes anything into a puree and slices things so quickly I have trouble keeping up with it 5. my outdoor clothesline--so my whites are really white. My neighbors think I am really weird when my clothes are up for a week during the winter rains. Nothing smells as good as clean underwear that just came in from the clothesline. 6. my Kitcheaid mixer that has mixed up so many cookies, breads over the years. 7. my coffee grinder that I use to grind spices for my chai latte mixture 8. my hand held can opener--my husband keeps buying those electric ones that wear out quickly and I still use the hand held one Kathleen Tell us the kitchen appliances, large and small that you love and what you like about them.
