I do everything in moderation too. I have used a little stevia in lemonade, I

use a little raw sugar in my oatmeal, little honey and maple syrup now and then

and I also consume a little HFCS when I drink 1/2 can of Coke a day and it's in

a few of the other items I use. I cook from scratch so I don't worry about the

small amount in my diet.

I use no artificial sweeteners, I tasted it once in a Propel and tossed that

thing out after one swallow.

I've been using stevia more and more for drinks and such

(tea/lemonade/ etc). I might add a little bit of raw sugar too.

Haven't tried stevia in cooking yet though.

[vegetarian_ group] HFCS and other sweeteners

I feel safer with HFCS than artificial sweeteners. That's just my humble

opinion, they have been used for decades.

I think we have to use all types of sweeteners in moderation.

Honey is natural but not to be given to infants and so on.

I add two parts stevia, one part raw (turbinado) sugar.

I like stevia in everything but coffee. It seems to make that bitter.

I am behind in reading some messages, but I wanted to comment on this...

Have any of you seen King Corn? It is a great documentary all about the corn

industry as experienced by two men that set out to grow an acre of corn and

watch where it went.

I really don't believe that HFCS is any good for us, just as table sugar is not

good (it is refined with no nutritional value). There is really no reason for

HFCS to be in most foods we eat. I am trying to avoid foods that contain it, but

it is nearly impossible, lest I no longer eat those foods. I pay more for bread

that does not contain it, and I can honestly say, I taste no difference! I have

also started to buy " fruit spread " rather than jelly. There is no sugar or

artificial sweeteners in it, just " fruit syrup " . Tastes just as good as any

jelly with HFCS and is, in my opinion, healthier.

It is just sad that to be healthy, we have to spend more money. The cheap stuff

that contains HFCS is at least half of the price of the stuff without. Just

another thing that is wrong with this world....(sigh)

btw...I & nbsp;started to buy Rapadura sugar. I haven't cooked anything with

sugar yet, but was told by an extremely healthy vegan that it was the stuff to

use.
