Guest guest
Ahh thank you Laura, that is just a good picture.LOL I actually took it of myself by accident with my nephews webcam while trying to figure out how it worked. LOL Nope my little girls aren't vegetarian but they sure do like a teeny nibble of a veg burger, tofu, bean burger, very edge of a potato chip, or a bit of soy cheese. If one eats something the other assumes it tastes good and she has to have a little bite too. I put a 19 yr old Siamese sweetie down last year, my beloved Koko, and adopted these two within the following week. They were born around March 6, not sisters. They love each other dearly. I especially like " Tazzy's " little scrunchi " collar " ! My 2 daughters, when they were young, wore long hair for years--we had " Scrunchi's " everywhere around the house, it seemed! Now I know of a cool way to " recycle " any that still, from time to time. turn up--put them on my cats' necks for a cute, but stretchy " collar " ! LOL! That's interesting, too, that your cat(s) will eat the soy cheese. I am somewhat leery of folks who want to convert their cats to " vegetarianism " (I am not against vegetarianism- -just not for cats, because they are naturally carnivores). HOWEVER--there you are with cats that eat soy cheese, and it must not disagree with them! I have one of my own (the only one of the 4 who does this), who, wheneer--and I mean WHENEVER--I am opening up a package of tofu or getting the tofu out of the refrigerator to make something with it--there he is, right at my feet, standing up to put one foot on my leg and pleading with a long, drawn-out " Meeeoooooowwww? !! " He's begging, you see--for a tiny piece of TOFU to nibble on! He's the ONLY one of those 4 cats that does this, but he seems to love a few tiny bites of tofu every now and then! (This is also the cat who likes to " attack' and play with rubber bands--I have to really watch him, because he can sniff out a rubber band (or a stretchy " jelly " bracelet!) and find it anywhere in the house and will try to " eat " it if I don't get it away from him!) Oh, those cats! This " Tofu-lovin' kitty is one of the 2 I wrote about that DD and I " found " out on the country road--he only has 3 legs but is such a clown and is just a sweetheart! I'd never call him " disabled " ; he does everything-- and then some--that all the other cats do!
Guest guest
Oh what gorgeous kitties, Donna. I love Taz's pink " scarf " :-) I am a kitty freak and very very sad right now as I lost my 19 year old Ziggy this weekend. He had been an insulin dependent diabetic for 7 years, and was getting very frail towards the end, so it was really no surprise, but I am still finding it so hard to handle. For the last year of his life he " lived " in an empty drawer under my bed, I fed him in here, and he had his water here, and in the last few weeks I also even brought his litter tray here, as he was having trouble getting down to the garden. For so long my morning and evening routine has centred around him, feeding him and making sure he had his shots, and now the drawer under my bed is empty and I have nothing to do, no needles to fill, no shots to give. And it is breaking my heart. He had a heart attack under my bed, I heard the howl as he died :-( and I can't stop hearing it in my head. And I keep expecting the cover over the drawer to move as he hears me come in the room, to ask for food or cuddles. He even used to sit and wait at the " door " of his " cave " until I lifted the cover for him to go in - he was quite capable of doing it, it is only the bottom half of a valance sheet, but why make the effort when you have a human slave to do it for you :-). My only comfort that his last few days were sunny, he loved to sit in the sun, and before work I carried him down so he could spend his day sunbathing. And his last meal was his favourite thing in the world, fish. Sorry for such a long post, I am making myself cry again :-(. Guest guest
Donna, this made me think, my other kitty, Dusty, who I found as a completely wild feral, and spent three months taming until he is now the softest cat in the whole world, seems to love salt. If I eat a bag of crisps (potato chips) he begs for one, so I have to scrunch one up and give it to him - he never wants more than that, thankfully, just the one, but he seems to have a real taste for salty stuff. I am sorry to hear about Koko, maybe you can give me some tips on dealing with such a loss, I am really struggling at the moment/ Carolyn <VegetarianMasterCookFormatting/> VegetarianMasterCookFormatting/ Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
