Guest guest
Yes, donate them to the soup kitchen. Canned tastes mushy. Maybe drain and eat on your salad. I don't know really it tastes so over cooked Donna Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile " jenn_tinysam " <jlbart74 Mon, 09 Jun 2008 12:33:55 Asparagus Recipes? I was given 2 cans of Asparagus. Does anyone have any simple recipes for this. I have had fresh but I wasnt sure how to convert a plain fresh asparagus recipe using this canned type. Guest guest
a friend used to make a good casserole with them. I think she drained the asparagus, stirred in some celery soup concentrate, a little milk, some cheddar cheese, and topped it with buttered cracker crumbs. It was actually not bad. Guest guest
You can make a mock avocado dip using canned asparagus instead for a lower fat version. & nbsp; Just make your favorite recipe substituting asparagus for the broccoli. & nbsp; Kelly, FL I was given 2 cans of Asparagus. Guest guest
There are two ways I use them, one is less simple than the other.... Less simple is to lay them on top of a paella pan just a few minutes at the end o cooking, they only need to heat, they look nice (along some peas and roasted red peppers). This only works if you are making paella though...(there are several vegetarian paella recipe on the files) The other way is on a composed salad plate, sometimes I make salads and instead of a bowl I use a extra large plate or flat platter, assemble all the salad goodies (start with the lettuces) and place the asparagus on top decoratively.
