What is the best brand for grilling? I'm going to

take some to a BBQ next weekend and didn't know which

ones to buy since I never eat them.

Thanks to all of you

Ibuy Smart Dogs. They taste the best to me.

I'm curious if others has their own preference.

My favorite has always been Yves " Good Dog " . Yves makes at least 3

varieties, one is called Tofu Dog, I think and I can't remember the

third, but the Good Dog tastes the best to me. I really dislike the

other two, though the wrappers look very similar. (On occasion I would

grab the wrong kind by mistake and I found the others almost unpalatable.)

I haven't tasted any other brands I care for, though it's been awhile

since I've eaten any.

Hi,

I don't actually remember. Sometimes I buy Smart Dogs (Lightlife, right?)

and some days I buy Yves. Found this small discussion on the web

<http://www.veggieboards.com/boards/showthread.php?t=39050>

However when I go to BBQ's friends are having I usually buy one of

those Soy Italian Sausages or Bratwurst. I think they are more flavorful.

Admittedly I don't go to that many BBQ's. The one or two that regularly

occur every year usually have separate grills for meat and non-meat .

I like the Yves the best, next the Lightlife. Recently tried the

Morningstar ones and thought they were nasty - poor texture, mushy.

Both Yves and Lightlife dry out a little when grilled but a little

spray of oil beforehand helps. The larger Tofurky sausages grill well

and are tasty. None of the veggie dogs take as long as meat dogs on

the grill, just long enough to heat through and get grill marks :).

hth,

Peace,

*runs to fridge to look*

Yves meatless hotdog.

I like to grill them on foil with some butter or

oil. During the last few moments of cooking,

I brush them with some smokey BBQ sauce.

Jack Daniel's brand is pretty good BBQ sauce. :)
