Guest guest
would you be able to share your recipe for crockpot soap? I've made soap many years ago and would like to again. Thanks olatou <olatou wrote:Have been reading about how certain foods (mostly with soy products) Are good for cholesterol. Have been browsing through some of the recipes and thought I would join. I'm such a fan of crockpot cooking. Am thinking the vegetarian way might make more sense to me. I'm also a soapmaker, who makes veggie soaps, and believe or not, I have also made a form of soap that cooks in a crokcpot. It's called Hot Processed soap. Looking forward to being in the group. It just came up on a search while looking for veggie crockpot recipes. Thanks, and nice to be here. Susan in Cambridge
Guest guest
I have just been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and the recommended diet for such patients is (surprise!!) plant based, translation: vegetarian. I doubt they intend GF because the idea is to do things to overcome the constipation that seems to be one of the inevitable things this disease causes. Guess who is eating kale, spinach and chard nearly every night? - Rhonda Wednesday, October 01, 2003 9:16 AM Hi, I'm new! Hello, my name is Rhonda and I just was told that I should go on a Gluten-free diet. I just started this weekend. I'm having some problems because a lot of gluten-free products have potatoes in it and I'm allergic to potatoes, they trigger my miagrains! I would like to make my own breads & pasta, but do I need to have the potatoes in it to keep it stable? I'm still in the research stage of this and I don't know a whole lot. Thanks for listening. Rhonda:)
Guest guest
Sylvia Fruit with pips (as our ped says as he's from South Africa) is also way helpful with the constipation problem. In fact lots of dried fruits are. We love figs, dates, prunes, mango and so forth. My eldest son used to suffer with impactions but now that we feed him lots of dried fruits he is much better. Also, eat your fresh fruit, potato and vegetables with the skins on as much as possible. There are still lots of grains you can eat when GF: buckwheat, quinoa, rice, millet, sorghum, amaranth, flax, sesame seed - and they can be used whole or ground in many things which will help with the fibre and the constipation. At least you are already partly there with being plant based, but are you doing okay emotionally with this diagnosis. BL ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What does Yhwh Elohim require of you? Guest guest
Rhonda The answer is no, potato does not have to be part of your GF diet. In fact I find potato flour and starch so expensive that we only use it for rare festival occasions. Let me know how I can help. What kinds of breads and things are you looking for? Guest guest
I am doing fine with it. At least it wasn't a brain tumor, which was the other possibility my symptoms suggested. I have always wondered what sort of malady would attack me as I aged. Nobody escapes. At least it isn't colon cancer which is frequent in my family, as is rheumatoid arthritis. This is sort of an ah ha!! Now I know why I kept stumbling, I am not just clumsy, LOL. I know what is in the future and I have plenty of time to sell all the books, sort the boxes of pictures and make the quilts I have been planning for years. I don't do much 'why me?' stuff because I recognize that life has been very good to me and the obvious answer is 'why not me' - Keith & Brenda-Lee Olson Thursday, October 02, 2003 10:45 AM Re: Hi, I'm new! Guest guest
Welcome to the feral list, Janet. I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian currently. I do enjoy eating mostly vegan dishes, but I am not too dilligent to make sure that all the covenience products, like soy cheeses and soy unmeats, might not have also egg white os some dairy bi-products in the listing. I live with two dogs and two cats... a few humans as well. I am the only vegetarian in the house; all the rest are omnivores. ~ PT ~ We ought not to treat living creatures like shoes or household belongings, which when worn with use we throw away. -Plutarch, biographer (c. 46-120) ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~~~> > I really don't like cooking so any fast and easy > recipes are always best for me. > Hubby and I are also owned by 6 furbabies. Anyone know any more? Cats need the amino acid Taurine that is not found in any vegetable source to my knowledge. Cats can be fed a vegetarian diet, but they must be given the taurine as a supplement for their good health.

Guest guest
Just keep on keeping on! Don't quit quitting, that is, if you fall off the wagon, so to speak, just get right back up again. One day at a time, and all that! It took me two years to kick the meat habit! Of course, I was 13 years old, living with meat eaters, and so on! 360./naturekeene7 My Website!
