Guest guest
I started becoming interested in not eating meat (I still did eggs and milk products.. and honey) when I was in college because everybody in the Fine Arts was veg*n. I was president of the Art Club and every year all the clubs would have a chili cookoff. This was in Houston, TX. They love chili cookoffs! We made ours from tofu, tahini, peanut butter and God knows what else. Everyone who comes to it pays a fee and gets a little bowl and spoon and goes around tasting all the different chilies, drink beer and dance to boot scootin' music and VOTES for the best chili. Yes, that year, even with our ingredients printed in plain view, the Art Club WON and the plaque hangs in the pottery studio at The University of Houston to this day! OK, too much information. Just start slow. Let your system get use to more fiber and your palate use to new textures and tastes. I promise you won't be sorry on any front. Not ethically, healthwise, or anything inbetween! If you need to eat food that looks like meat, you can always use the 'pretend' meat. You don't want to become a junkatarian! Try to eat close to the earth. My Godson's name is Padma. I noticed that in your email address. His name is Bodhi Padma Banjo Edzra Burnhardt. He lives in Bali. Namaste! Guest guest
I LOVE yoga! I've been into yoga and tai chi chuan for years. I don't do my yoga practice as much as I should and there aren't a lot of people in this little town that do it or understand it. Two teachers I've found. I did have a great Master that I use to play tai chi with, but she moved. Veggie snacks? I always have almonds and walnuts on hand because they're very portable and also very healthy. Baby carrots I like too. Have you tried edamame.. or is it edemame?? They're like eating popcorn. Just pop those babies out of their shells and they are GOOD! Namaste! Guest guest
Great story about the chili. Reminds me of the time in college when one of my friends made punch spiked with Scope just to see what would happen. People loved it, which just goes to show... well I'm not sure what, because my friend didn't broadcast the ingredients as you did. Anyway, thank-you for your kind advice, and for noticing my username. Yoga is the other extraordinarily healthy and peaceful thing I do that nobody seems to respect or understand. Btw, what are some of your favorite veggie snacks? I work long days (I am a mechanical engineer), and it seems like a long time between meals. Guest guest
I like the advice about eating close to the earth. A challenge for me in that respect is a busy, young family, and frequent business travel. I think that working toward ovo-lacto at this point is ambitious enough. So, what ovo-lacto foods are " closest to the earth? " Dave. , Jilly34689 wrote: > > I started becoming interested in not eating meat (I still did eggs and milk > products.. and honey) when I was in college because everybody in the Fine > Arts was veg*n.
