Guest guest
It sure is wonderful, Cassie. I thank God every day for the wonderful situation I am in. My daughter and her family live upstairs in the big house now and built me a little garden cottage. My Son and his family live about 20 minutes from us. There is nothing like a multigenerational family. I can help with the baby and I do all the laundry and a lot of the gardening. I feel needed and appreciated and we all take care of one another. It is a very wonderful life. Zelda
Guest guest
This was the way I grew up as did my children.? I so hoped that it would continue but, alas, my daughter and the rugrats live five hours away.? While we talk and email, I rarely see them (long story).? You are blessed! Guest guest
That is one thing I wish we could do. My mother in law has been living with us from late August to mid June for the past 2 years. She stayed home with our 2 year old daughter while my husband and I worked (I am a teacher). Each year around Jan. there was too much tension and bitterness, but we are all sooo very stubborn During that time, my sister lived almost 2 hours away and my parents lived almost 4 hours away but, we just moved 2 weeks ago, and now my sister is 45 minutes away and my patents are 2 hours my father in law is about 30 minutes and the beautiful Florida beach is less than 10 minutes!!!! Yeaaaaaa! Enjoy your family and their blessings. I imagine how simple life must have been when travel was difficult and families of multiple generations lived on the same plot of land, working and playing together. How nice! Guest guest
Both of my parents were raised this way, but they ventured down to sunny Florida from dreary Ohio when I was 4 months old. My grandparents soon followed when my sis was born (2 years later) and left their 2 sons and their wives. Cassie " life's a garden, dig it!
