Guest guest
sadly, Marlowe (the publisher) is one of the ones Perseus did not keep when they sucked up PGW. so i can't get it at work now either wouldn't you know it...Perseus not only let Marlowe go, they killed the Grove imprint that handled Gay titles... i told you peter.....i told you they're evil..... Guest guest
Has anyone used the cookbook " Veganomicon " by Isa Chandra Moskowitz & Terry Hope Romero? Just wondering if this is a good one to invest in-- I'm a fairly new vegetarian.
Guest guest
I borrowed if from the library first (I do that often if I want to be sure there are enough recipes to make it worth buying it - if not, I copy down the few that appeal to me). It's nice, pricey though. I already have too many cookbooks so I didn't buy it, but maybe later on. There's tons of recipes here if you're willing to spend some time reading through them - the files are amazing! I've been here just over 6 months and am still reading! Guest guest
This is a great cookbook. I bought it when it came out. I was fairly new to vegan cooking at the time and found it a little intimidating. But after getting acquainted with ingredients I wasn't used to cooking with, it became a breeze! Don't expect to find any recipes using soy crumbles or any of those processed meat substitutes...these recipes encourage you to cook with good fresh foods. So there may be more prep time involved. One of my favorite recipes is the chickpea cutlets....soooo good! Have you seen Isa's cupcake cookbook? I'm totally in love with that one. Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World is one that I would completely recommend. Hope I could be of some help to you. Guest guest
I'm a veggie cookbook fiend! It's quite amazing that vegetarian/vegan cooking finally has its own section in the bookstore now - quite a large one too. I just bought this cookbook recently. I like that the ingredients are simple and easy to find in most grocery stores and they list the cooking/prep time so you can get as elaborate or simple as you want with your cooking. The flavours of alot of the recipes look delicious. The tips are helpful too. : ) Apryl , " ann1083 " <ann1083 wrote: > > Has anyone used the cookbook " Veganomicon " by Isa Chandra Moskowitz & > Terry Hope Romero? Guest guest
Great to hear about cookbooks that others enjoy. I love cookbooks too. It sure is nice to find bookstores nice selections isn't it. Amazon has a lot too and free shipping and no sales tax on orders over $25, which isn't hard to accumulate that much, with so many good things to buy on there, including food items. Guest guest
Oh my! I love this cookbook. I am on my second time checking it out from the library. When I first got it I was just becoming a vegetarian and had so much to read up on that I did not give it my full attention. After checking out more than 30 vegetarian cookbooks, I have found this one to be exceptional. I also like " Vegan with a Vengeance, " " How It All Vegan, " " V Cuisine, " " The Joy of Vegan Baking, " and a few others. But I felt that these were worth mentioning. I always make most of my purchases from Amazon.com and have been using them for many many years. Lately, I do their and save for many items. It is always free shipping and no taxes, even if it falls under $25.00. -Gypsy Re: Veganomicon Posted by: " wwjd " jtwigg cvtfluffy Tue Jul 15, 2008 6:53 pm (PDT) Great to hear about cookbooks that others enjoy.
