I do. Nice to meet you, Judith. I'm Beth in NYC.

For some, such as myself, cilantro is horrible. Smells and tastes like a

sewer. I ask to leave it off when I get veggie burritos. I also remove it if I

find it in a restaurant. Too bad -- most people don't experience it this

way.

ROFLMBO Not to my knowledge, but that's pretty limited when it comes to

chat rooms. I don't do em. But I think Piers can probably help out here ;=)

Well I'd never heard of cilantro but that's nothing new - that's a reason

for subscribing to lists like this, to find out new things.

I had heard of chat rooms though and had some (limited) experience of them

on lists. Technically there's not much to know, provided the list is

set up for chatting you click on " Chat " on the webpage of the list (

vegetarianslimming ) and you're in - sometimes

you may be asked to dowload something from in order to be able to

operate in the chat room.

The real problem is finding someone who is in the chat room at the same time

as you are - for me at least it's a problem as I'm in a different time zone

from almost everyone else on the list. I would suggest that if anyone was

interested in chatting we could set up a chat at a particular time by means

of posting on the list. Anyone else with more experience of this?

My friend loves it so much she will wash the whole bunch and eat the whole thing

stems and all with salad dressing.  She won't even mix it with lettuce.  Now

that is a bit too much for me.

LOL, that is funny!

anyway though, I think it is all in the quantity used, it needs to be adjusted

to the taste of the one eating it. probably once one is used to it, the amount

can be increased in recipes.

Re: [vegetarian_ group] cilantro Jann

I read the title fast and thought it was about cilantro JAM!!!! I was looking

forward to a recipe for it, LOL! But now I see it says Jann.

I have a friend who can't stand the taste/smell of cilantro (thinks it's soapy),

but I think it adds so much to Asian and Mexican and American dishes.

I felt the same way at first. I couldn't stand the scent it left on your hands

either. I love it now and have been using it for years. I toss a handful into my

soups as they cook.

Cilantro is definitely an acquired taste. I remember the first time I

tried fresh cilantro, I HATED it, but it's grown on me over the years.
