Enjoy your Quorn. You don't have to dwell on trying to be vegan. If it's not

for you that's OK. Being a vegetarian is a milestone. Remember what you were

eating for meals 3 years ago and feel proud of yourself.

Hugs

Donna who will never be vegan, butter tastes too damn good lol

don't worry Carolyn, we will be ok, the chances we will become allergic are

slim!

have faith girlfriend!

I am with you, I would love to be vegan, but I just don't have the strength to

give up the stuff. I do my best with free range and all that, but I know that is

not all it I cracked up to be, but hopefully someday I can go vegan, and

hopefully by then quorn will have thought of something else besides egg whites.

they say they are working on it.

RE: Re: Quorn eat it often

Line me up with you Chanda, quorn is one of my staples. I tried veganism for

a while but the thing I could not live without was quorn, dairy, eggs, milk,

cheese, whatever, no problem but I was just lost without quorn, and at the

moment I am on a very low fat diet due to gall bladder problems, so quorn is

a lifesaver for me. I am already allergic to two of my favourite foods,

onions and sweetcorn, if it happens with quorn too, I just don't even want

to think about it, but as allergies/intolerances seem to happen with foods

you eat a lot maybe it is something I do need to think about. Oh

noooooooooooooooo.

Wow, I sounds like you're just allergic to it - that can happen with

anything.

Thanks Donna,

Gosh, 3 years, actually 3 1/2 now, LOL, has gone by so quickly. That is when I

met you.

It was hard at first, with my family all being meat eaters. we all compromised

and now we are all happy. I will make the meat that DH buys, by make it I mean

put it in the oven, I will not cut anything up but veggies, and they have

compromised as well, by not demanding meat every meal. They are now happy to eat

things like meatless stir fries, and pierogies, etc. it has all worked out. I

did not convert them, but I helped them to eat healthier. I have converted a few

others though, and not through force, just like you do it, I converted them

through kindness, allowing them to try or not to try, and one thing led to

another and wow.

I just had a good friend of 28 years call me the other day. he just quit a job

driving a meat truck. he couldn't stand the site of blood anymore, quit his job,

and wants to become a vegetarian.

how about that!

Right Donna,

If I nag, or try to change them, they will rebel. I have them eating half if not

even 1/4 of the meat they used to. My daughter's friend has expressed interest

in becoming veg because of me, and her mother told me that she knows it was not

from my preaching, it was just from her watching me. (so, vegetarians really

don't pass out all the time due to lack of protein, how bout that!) LOL!

used to be that in my house if a meal did not include meat,t hen it was not

considered a meal. nowadays they are used to most dishes not having it.

wooohooo!!!

Re: Chanda Re: Quorn eat it often

I all works if everyone respects one another. As long as you don't try to

convert them and they don't nag at your new lifestyle. Trust me Chanda, you may

have them veggies one day. Never in my wildest dreams would I believe my sister

and BIL would go veg. They have been about 5 yrs now.

Just keep making those veg. tasty dishes for them. By having them eat less

meat a week it will make them crave it less and open their tastebuds to good

vegetarian dishes.

3-1/2 years now that went fast, didn't it?

Hugs

Donna
