Oh, I LOVE LOVE LOVE fresh figs. I've bought about 3 baskets this

season and, so far, I haven't yet had the perfect fig. During the

height of fig season I buy a basket a day. :-D

Hi there,

 

Thanks DM for posting this really super informative link on figs! I

didn't know that figs were in the mulberry family! And to think I

was complaining earlier in the year when our 2 mulberry trees dumped

so much fruit on our lawn that the Robins and other birds were

actually getting " drunk " on the over-ripe berries!! No kidding, the

birds were actually lying around, perfect fodder for any

neighborhood starving tom cat because they wouldn't budge! Anyway,

I just wanted to thank you for listing that link. Also, I didn't

realize how figs were such a vital source of calcium and

antioxidants. Makes me crave a fig right about now!! ~Stephie
