Guest guest
Hi there, Does anyone have some fresh ideas for what to do with fresh ginger?! I have some in my fridge that's been sitting there, wondering what to do besides use for juicing. Thank you in advance for your wonderful ideas! ~Stephie
Guest guest
There is a great rice recipe called coconut lime rice (I think, look under grains-rice). I made it for a party and got rave reviews! Good luck! Christine : teka01: Mon, 14 Jul 2008 23:22:09 +0000 Fresh Ginger Hi there,Does anyone have some fresh ideas for what to do with fresh ginger?! Guest guest
you know you can just throw the ginger in the freezer(wrapped) and grate it as needed for recipes. I use it a lot in indian and asian recipes, ~Danielle- -- In , " Stephie " <teka01 wrote: > > Hi there, > > Does anyone have some fresh ideas for what to do with fresh ginger?! > I have some in my fridge that's been sitting there, wondering what to > do besides use for juicing. Guest guest
I do this, too--I think it also makes the ginger a lot easier to peel! Guest guest
That ginger syrup recipe someone posted a bit ago is very yummy. I've been enjoying fresh homemade ginger ale and sun tea with ginger syrup ice cubes - gets steadily more gingery as the cubes melt - yum. Just put ginger syrup in the search box; the recipe should pop up. Guest guest
For long term storage, put fresh ginger in a wine like Sherry that has a high alcohol content. I slice it up and put it in a jar and add dry sherry. Then I can use the " sherried ginger " as I like and the sherry has a wonderful ginger flavor to add to recipes. It keeps indefinitely in a covered jar in the refrigerator.
