Guest guest
Go get my biscotti recipe and make it with sage or another her and some choopes walnuts. It's the Cherry Garcia biscotti and instead of cherries and chocolate you can use thyme, sage, chopped walnuts. Really delicious Donna Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile Sharon Zakhour <sharon.zakhour Wed, 23 Jul 2008 19:43:52 bake sale goodies It's almost that time again... my youngest daughter is entering 8th grade and that means one thing... BAKE SALE. Yes, we will be baking almost weekly for that ubiquitous fund raiser. I have the sweets well figured out. But we have been asked to also provide savory for the bake sale. I find this to be more difficult. I need to find some ideas that can be made ahead of time, served at room temperature and that will appeal to grade school kids and their parents. Oh, and hopefully not too labor intensive. Do you have any good ideas that fit the bill? (We are already looking into foccaccia and popcorn, so I'm looking for different ideas.) Thanks, Sharon

Guest guest
Try my broccoli cheddar muffins, hummus and pita triangles, artichoke spinach dip with tortilla chips, I bet some of the things in the carrot recipes would be good. Also in the appetizers recipes. Try my cheese ball and make it into mini balls and serve with some mini crackers. Roasted peanuts, boiled peanuts and roasted veggies. Celery stuffed with cream cheese mixed with diced black olives. The pickle recipe I sent earlier is a big hit with groups and it is easy to make. How about some spicy roasted nuts? My Cool veggie pizza recipe is very good. They could keep it in the refrigerator until time to sell it. Hope this helps, Judy - Sharon Zakhour Wednesday, July 23, 2008 9:43 PM bake sale goodies It's almost that time again... my youngest daughter is entering 8th grade and that means one thing... Guest guest
Maybe a variation on the classic corn bread/muffins that I've run into where you add blueberries to them could work. That would be more of a savory then a sweet. Or any type of muffin really. Dennis

Guest guest
Thanks for all the good ideas, everyone! (And, please feel free to keep them coming...) I've checked out the website, crawled through our files (took me awhile to find Judy's cheese ball, but find it I did!) I have several recipes earmarked to try. :-) Sharon wwjd wrote: > Try my broccoli cheddar muffins, hummus and pita triangles, artichoke spinach dip with tortilla chips, > I bet some of the things in the carrot recipes would be good. >
Guest guest
Sharon, how about biscotti for soups? I have a cheese biscotti recipe, it might be in the files. Spinach feta pie? (I can never remember how to spell or to pronounce it). Its not that difficult to make but looks impressive. I'm not sure of the definition of savory, but what about Donna's hippie granola? Guest guest
I like the spice mixed nuts recipe. How do you figure out how much to charge for it? Sandra If you're going to pursue revenge, be prepared to dig two graves.
