Guest guest
Where are you from(be as vague or specific as you choose)? Eastern Tennessee What helped you consider being a vegetarian? Health. To be specific, I have Rheumatoid Arthritis that failed to respond to any conventional treatment. I was sick and tired of being sick and tired so I tried " unconventional " treatments. What do you enjoy about being a vegetarian? 1) Feeling better! I have lost weight (still heavy, but not quite so) and my blood tests are much more " normal " I am also off my cane - which is a huge plus. A note: I'm also gluten free now. Each has helped in its own way. 2) Being creative: I can fix lots of new foods now 3) Color: let's face it - veggies outdo meat on the color scale hands down - much more appealing What tips do you suggest to new vegetarians? Okay, we're semi-veg here. We eat fish on occasion. (please don't send me email on this - we've come a long way. This will be our final hurdle) We hope to go full veg, but haven't made that leap yet. My one tip would be, don't be discouraged if you " fall off the wagon " . It happens. Just dust off and get back on the right track.
Guest guest
Where are you from(be as vague or specific as you choose)? Originally, Kansas Currently, San Francisco East Bay area - Tri-Valley What helped you consider being a vegetarian? News and articles about factory farms, suffering of animals, etc. What do you enjoy about being a vegetarian? Not being responsible for the suffering of animals in slaughterhouses. What tips do you suggest to new vegetarians? I'm not very good at giving suggestions. For some people it is easier to just totally and instantly quit eating meat. That's what I did. For others it is easier to slowly stop eating meat. Each to their own. Oh, how about - pay attention to ingredient labels. Gary
Guest guest
Where are you from(be as vague or specific as you choose)? Originally, Chesterton, IN right on Lake Michigan Kansas Currently Deltona, FL between Orlando & Daytona Beach What helped you consider being a vegetarian? For health reasons and environmental reasons. What do you enjoy about being a vegetarian? I'm not sure that I enjoy it anymore than when I wasn't. I still love recipes, so now I spend hours looking at veg recipes and coming up with ways to make " non " veg foods into veg. foods. What tips do you suggest to new vegetarians? Everyone only wanted to say all the wonderful aspects of being vegetarian, but no one wanted to talk abou the difficulties for fear of turning someone away. My suggestions is to know that with anything worthwhile there will be difficulties and hills to climb, but there are others out there who have been through them, so don't give up. Also, if you " slip " , don't beat yourself up. Finally, just enjoy your food, because there are so many wonderful recipes and different foods out there to try.
