Hi Louise

You should be able to find egg replacers at a health food/whole food

store. My local store stocks 3 different types - Ener-G Egg Replacer

which you will see people refer to on here, Orgran No Egg egg

replacer which is Australian, and Allergycare Vegan Whole Egg

replacer which is actually produced over here so I shall stick to

that one in future. I only use egg replacer for baking so I can't

help you on its use in quiche-making. Someone posted a recipe here

recently for an eggless quiche using tofu in place of egg, so you

could try typing " eggless quiche " in the search facility above the

messages on the group.

There are other alternatives for eggs which can be used in different

recipes. The egg alternative will depend on the purpose that the egg

served in the recipe - ground flax seeds (linseed), mashed banana,

pureed apple, tofu can all be used to replace the egg in different

recipes but I don't know enough about it to advise you - I either use

the Egg Replacer or follow a vegan recipe closely and leave it to

others to work out what alternative works best in which recipe!

Thank you very much for your reply, it was great to have some

advice. I can't seem to find that recipe. I tried the search engine

but I think it was the wrong one, it just listed groups. I tried

also in the food recipie folders and couldn't find it there. Do you

have it by any chance. Maybe you are right, I should try vegan

recipies - no eggs at all!

Thanks, Louise

The search facility is immediately above the messages on the group

message page. You can either input the message number or type in key

words and it will throw up relevant posts. The eggless quiche was in

message 67921.
