I've not had so many different basils, before. I grow the Genovese and Lettuce

leaf basil varieties. Do you grow the lime and lemon basil at your home or do

you buy them at a particular store? They sound wonderful. I'll have to look

for some seeds.

I love cardamon, cinnamon, cumin, mustard seeds and ginger.

For herbs it's cilantro, tarragon, rosemary, dill and basil.

There are so many more. I could have a page long list.

I grow my herbs in pots on my patio. Basil, year around(indoor on days/nights

with freezing temps), rosemary and garlic chives year around outdoors in pots,

Stevia(just got this this spring and love munching on the leaves), parley, dill

weed and cilantro(in the spring and fall when it is a little cooler, which it

like better than our boiling hot summers), I've grown sage, tarragon and oregano

before and that is great to have fresh on hand.

I'll have to get ahold of some of the lemon and lime basil. What a freshness

lemon and lime give to food and drink.

i always have had this huge rosemary bushel that has never died over the past 5

years. every year it came back bigger and more productive. And also i grow

chives in a pot outdoors and grow my types of basil in the sunroom. sunrooms in

my opinon are a wonderful place to grow any type of plant, because it heats up

during the day even in colder months. and of course i grow my yearly vegtables

and my peaches and plums that i grow also

Not sure if I have a top 5 spices.

I will say I use allot of Garlic so that is number 1.

2-Onion not sure if this counts but I use it in almost everything I

cook.

3-Hot Sauce or dried red chillies from India (the best I have found

yet)

4- Cumin perfect for almost everything

5- White Spicy Curry powder.

Herbs I like basically anything green.

Cilantro is the best in my opinion.

Everything I cook has to be spicy so I use a mix of items.

Now I have to alter everything when I have guests apparently I eat my

food to spicy.
