Freezing Beans?

You can even freeze hummus. I haven't ever had one that wouldn't freeze either.

My mom was a big freezer fan and we picked all kinds of beans in the summer,

blanched and then froze them for use whenever needed.

I would say so. At least I have not found one that doesn't....

My Mom freezes green beans from her garden every year and they turn out great.

If you like I can ask her exactly how she does it. I think she parboils them

first but I'm not sure.

Let me know...

I have frozen green beans in the past when I have grown them in my

garden. What her " Mom " is referring to is called blanching the beans.

You bring the beans to a boil, boil for a very short time [just a few

minutes or just until they turn bright green], and then drain them [i

save the drained water for making vegetarian broth], and dump the hot

beans in ice water, drain them again, and freeze the beans.
