Guest guest
I would say so. At least I have not found one that doesn't.... , " Zelda " <zel29 wrote: > > Do all beans freeze well? > >
Guest guest
You can even freeze hummus. I haven't ever had one that wouldn't freeze either. My mom was a big freezer fan and we picked all kinds of beans in the summer, blanched and then froze them for use whenever needed. Guest guest
Thanks. I am glad to hear that since I made this rice and bean thing and put it into the freezer in meal-size portions. Z
Guest guest
My Mom freezes green beans from her garden every year and they turn out great. If you like I can ask her exactly how she does it. I think she parboils them first but I'm not sure. Let me know... Guest guest
I have frozen green beans in the past when I have grown them in my garden. What her " Mom " is referring to is called blanching the beans. You bring the beans to a boil, boil for a very short time [just a few minutes or just until they turn bright green], and then drain them [i save the drained water for making vegetarian broth], and dump the hot beans in ice water, drain them again, and freeze the beans.
