Guest guest
This has been mentioned in discussions before and I have to respond this time...... There are those of us who do not produce breast milk. Both of my babies were not gaining weight so I was forced to supplement their diets. I tried many different things to produce milk and I know that I wasn't producing it not only because of my babies lack of weight gain, but because when I pumped, next to nothing came out. My doctor told me that I have a lack of milk ducts. What do you suggest in those circumstances for a newborn - other than formula supplements? Linda :-) ____ Babies are meant to nurse breastmilk! Not carrot juice, not fruits and vegetables, not rice cereal! I nursed both my daughters exclusively for one full year - no " supplemental " formula or foods at all. At one year old, I offered them fruit. It had nothing to do with whether or not they'd like vegetables later either. Fruit is the most digestable food for one year old babies and it is the closest in protein content to breastmilk.
Guest guest
Linda, I don't know if Jinjee has ever had that experience but I'm sure she may have some wonderful advice! Go to http://www.thegardendiet.com/children and see if this helps. Guest guest
Hello Linda, I am very sorry you were unable to produce breastmilk for your children when they were babies. I am sure that was heartbreaking at the time. I have a friend with 4 children who had the same experience and she was so disappointed to find she did not produce milk. In spite in individual problems with milk production and milk ducts, breastmilk is still what babies were designed to grow on. Individual woman not producing milk does not change our species design. While I produced plenty of milk (I nursed each of my daughters for 3 1/2 years), if I had not, I would have found the healthiest alternative I could have. A friend of mine researched breastmilk banks. Another friend (who adopted her children due to fertility problems) researched homemade formulas and made her own for her children. When we have to find alternative answers for our health and our children's health, we can. I have had to research answers for myself and my children many times rather than accept what medical doctors wanted to do. I will continue to find healthy answers as needs come up. I have appreciate your many posts on finding your answers to healthy teeth. Guest guest
Thank you for your response. It was very upsetting that I could not breastfeed my kids when I wanted to so badly. Unfortunately, back then I was still a believer in traditional medicine (and government recommendations - unlike today) so I trusted that formula was okay for my children. Your advice is interesting though and I will remember it should I have any more kids. Thank you for your message...... Oh, and I'm not sure about your mention of my posts regarding healthy teeth. I haven't been posting any such messages. It must have been another Linda. :-) rawfood , tncnavarra@a... wrote: > > Hello Linda, > > I am very sorry you were unable to produce breastmilk for your children when > they were babies. Guest guest
Sounds lovely, hope that there arent too many predators ( foxes etc.) about. My bad news is that the stray mother with kittens is in season again and being harrassed 24/7, I am spending lots of time being horrible to two persistant toms, whilr the kittens are left on their own. I am still feeding them, but their mother must be uncomfortable if she cant feed . Guest guest
HI Peter It's the neighbours cats we have to worry about. We chased one off this morning, although the cock pheasant was ready to flap and bluster. It's a pity about your mum cat, and a pity she can't be sterilised. I hope the kittens stay safe. Guest guest
RSPCA wont advise me as its not my cat ( I made the mistake of telling them that the family across the lane claim it is their cat ), they only offer financial assistance on a means tested basis - i work so i pay full.
