Guest guest
I came across this in 'Oddly Enough'. Who wouldn't celebrate their pet's birthday? Jo One in three dog owners celebrate their pets' birthdays with a present or special treat, a new study shows. A survey of 1,600 adults who had dogs revealed that many buy toys or clothes or pamper their pet with a grooming session - or even give them a kiss. One in 10 of those polled by Direct Line Pet Insurance give their dog a card to open on their birthday
Guest guest
I like how they stated "or even give them a kiss" like that's the most shocking part of the whole story. I must say though that I don't understand the birthday cards. Why would you give an animal with no thumbs something to open? That doesen't sound like a very good present to me.jo <jo.heartwork wrote: I came across this in 'Oddly Enough'. Who wouldn't celebrate their pet's birthday? Guest guest
My budgie would not have let me give him a kiss :-) He would have pecked me first. He used to love cards though. I swear he wanted to learn how to read. He probably could read 'happy birthday' after we told him what it said :-) Jo - cortney aldrich Thursday, June 29, 2006 1:23 PM Re: Pet's Birthdays I like how they stated "or even give them a kiss" like that's the most shocking part of the whole story. Guest guest
Hi Jo So sweet! I've been thinking of your budgie the last couple of days. My neighbors across the street are on vacation and Zak and I are watching over the girl's bird Victoria. She is a sweet little Zebra Finch and I am instantly in love. Though I think she is ready for her Mum to come home. BB Nikki , " jo " <jo.heartwork wrote: > > My budgie would not have let me give him a kiss :-) He would have pecked me first. Guest guest
Hi Nikki I have always liked birds. I had a series of budgies from when I was about 6 - my dad took on two little green hens that would have been put down otherwise. I've never had a finch but they always look very sweet. My daughter has a budgie, and a Senegal parrot. Guest guest
I assume they were caged birds?, did you ever let them out? We had a few budgies when I was littlw, and they used to love flying around our living room, and in the summer we used to put the cages outside which they seemed to like. Guest guest
Hi Jo I've never had a bird, but both Zak and I are a bit sad that they came home today. We're going to miss Victoria. I've always been partial to finches in the stores because they are so cute. BB Nikki , " jo " <jo.heartwork wrote: > > Hi Nikki > > I have always liked birds. Guest guest
No - they wouldn't come out. They had been kept in a cage, and weren't used to it. There was no point in stressing them by making them come out. The rest of our budgies have come out. We always used to take ours in the garden too - in fact we used to carry them around most places. Guest guest
Hi Nikki Maybe you will get to look after her again sometime. Guest guest
Hi Jo > Maybe you will get to look after her again sometime. I'm sure that we will, they do go on vacation often. Unfortunately Janet will be going to college this year and no pets are allowed in the dorm. So I only hope that the parents keep her!
