Guest guest
hi fraggle, the funny thing about it is I have not seen any regular bees this summer. I have planted flowers for them but they don't come. butterflies and wasps yes, bees no. my kids have gotten stung by wasps in the garden. , fraggle <EBbrewpunx wrote: > > Africanized bees are all across the US South > don't be paranoid...but be aware > make sure your kids know to leave all bees alone..and never to go anywhere near a nest/hive. > > fraggle > > > >Anouk Sickler <zurumato > >Jul 28, 2006 12:07 PM > > > > bees? > > > >http://www.tampabays10.com/news/watercooler/article.aspx?storyid=35972 > > > >Hi everyone, > > > >there was this story bout half hour from where I live about bees in > >the news when I came home from > >vacation on monday. is this a concerne? because my kids play > >outside or am I overly paranoid? > > > >-anouk > > > > > > > > > > > > > >To send an email to - > >
Guest guest
hi peter, i'll tell you briefly what happened to me back in may of this year we were at a park, a friend, me, and my two little boys. it was a nature park with a lake, and somehow one of my little boys mus't ve come nearby a nest. well there was this one single bee or wasp, I couldn't really tell that was literally circling him. he is three years old. it was pretty scary to watch him frozen in fear. I took him and it followed me too. we couldn't run away from it. I am not exagerating, this really happened. after what seemed like five minutes, we escaped it. don't know why it happened. , peter VV <swpgh01 wrote: > > Yes, but how many swarm attacks have you actually heard about? are they commonplace? Guest guest
That's awesome VV! Bumblers are the only bees that I am not afraid of and can actually talk with. Perhaps it helps that we have a rather large hive in the crawlspace under the house. They know me and I know them. Perhaps I would have dared with bare hands depending on it's state, but I am not entirely confident of that. Nikki , peter VV <swpgh01 wrote: > > Nah just my hands, he was a very tired old bumbler.
