Guest guest
Hey everybody, Just letting you know that I found a couple of chat rooms in where vegs tend to meet F.Y.I. The rooms are "Alternative Medecine" under "Health and Wellness" and "Paganism" under "Religion". Later ;-)

Guest guest
Hi Tara, I am both. But FYI, when you say Wiccan in the UK, they take it to mean associated with Gardner and though may be a Witch or practice Witchcraft/Magic, will say that they are not Wiccan. Here in the states we (or at least some of us) take Wiccan to mean a Witch or practicing Witchcraft/Magic. And you? Nikki , " Tara Van Nostrand " <et0ile13 wrote: > > hey that is cool. Guest guest
Hi Nikki Very true, it is a definite set of rules. There is only one member of his coven alive now - a friend of a friend. Guest guest
Hi Jo Well I cannot take credit for it, I learned that from Peter. We were having a discussion and I could not understand how he could say he was a witch and not wiccan and then he explained it all. Gardner still seems to be widely read and followed even here. But I never understood why. I suppose it is because many believe his claims. Personally I cannot stand his work. Guest guest
Hi Nikki > Gardner still seems to be widely read and followed even here. But I > never understood why. I suppose it is because many believe his claims. > Personally I cannot stand his work. Yeah - same in the UK. Very widespread. I can sort of understand it, because he brought modern witchcraft to the attention of the public, and so did do us quite a service. I wonder how many people who now identify as " Pagan " would have ever even heard of the word, or met others who have similar beliefs if it hadn't been for his enthusiasm. Having said that, I don't like the way that Wicca (I believe a lot of Americans refer to it as " British Traditional Witchcraft " ) works - for me it's too hierarchical, and too set in its ways - very little room for individuality and differing practices. Not that that means there's anything wrong with it - just it doesn't suit me :-) BB Peter
