flutter by little flutterby, lovely Anouk, that cheered me up. How do you know it was unwell, surely it is a struggle for all this type of creature going through a metomorphosis? hi fraggle,

this caterpillar had poor apetite, and even though

i would put him back on the leaf, he would be seen wondering

around, was little and skinny.

The person whom I brought the Asclepias from assured me that

these plants are not sprayed, however

i have since read that miracle gro in the soil, will kill

caterpillars even though the leaf has not been sprayed.

he flew away this morning! I fed him a special juice of orange and

sugar.

I have planted ALot of Mexican Sunflower in my garden and I have

a million butterflies because it is their favorite flower.

if you like I can send you some seeds. they do grow to about 5'6''

which is my height, and they are bright orange.

thanx

i might take you up on that

had a gazillion sunflowes this year, and a few are still pumping out blooms...

though, most of the butterflies were around about a month ago and have mostly

flown off/laid eggs and died...

I dont know what benefit the addition of orange juice would bebut certainly any sugar solution would have done the trick. Glad he made it. maybe he was wondering looking for the right place to start his cocoon? hi peter,

this was in a book,

aparently butteflies in the wild like to suck on an orange

or oranges that fall on the ground. some people put out fruit

for them. I didn't know that either. The butterflies in

my garden have become very bold,

and have started to land on me and my three year old

we sometimes talk to them as caterpillars and move them to

a more leafear plant with our hands.

could it be that they remember us from when they where caterpillars?
