Guest guest
What are some of your favorite meat substitutes? I want to start trying new meatless recipes on the carnivores in the house. I've already been adding veggies casseroles and as long as I make them tasty no one is complaining. I'll be glad to find a good lasagna recipe with a meat substitute. Tofu isn't an option, my husband threatened anarchy if I snuck that in on them, but, he didn't mention anything else so I'm online today looking for alternatives. Guest guest
Yeap, I'm looking at recipes today online and they're plenty of 'em. I've not tried soy before and wondered if it has any taste. I saw one site that had a soy based product that was BBQ'd on the grill and it looked like a thick cut of salmon. I wondered how it tasted and if there were meat or fish flavorings that aid in taste. Guest guest
soy is versatile tofu is soy it all depends in how it is prepared, marinated, cooked, seasoned, etc you mentioned yer hubby said " tofu, no way! " well...i bet you could easily sneak tofu in, and he'd never notice tofu isn't meant to be dumped out of the package and tossed on a grill er wotever it needs to be seasoned, prepared it works could mixed with something else and remember, there are different varieties of tofu, and each has its own texture and place in cooking try something easy....little cubes of tofu (silken) in miso most soy products on the market shouldn't have animals flavorings, some do, but not most you will find other animal bits in them tho often..like whey er casien er wot have you cheers fraggle >*mona <ahnochirah >Jan 3, 2007 4:21 PM > > Re: carnivores > >Yeap, I'm looking at recipes today online and they're plenty of 'em. >I've not tried soy before and wondered if it has any taste.
