Guest guest
I'll be going to ST. Pete within the next couple of weeks. My husband works with the Military and there's a big hoopdee doopdee thingy he's got to attend for a few days and I thought I'd tag along while things are slow here. Do you know of any good places to eat in the area? *mona , " zurumato " <zurumato wrote: > > monster search results for jobs available where I live. > > Search Results > Favorites > Discards > > > > Showing 25 | 50 | 100 per pageResults 1-21 of 21 matches > Page: 1 > > STATUSCOMPANYTITLEADDRESS TYPE DISTANCENOTE > WalmartCashier4381 Cattlemen Rd > Sarasota, FL Part-time1.8mi > NewWal - MartGeneral Merchandise Stocker4381 Cattlemen Rd > Sarasota, FL Part-time1.8mi > New7-ElevenSales AssociateMultiple Locations in the Area > Sarasota, FL Part-time5.4mi > WalmartCashier8320 Lockwood Ridge Rd > Sarasota, FL Part-time5.9mi > NewWal - MartGeneral Merchandise Stocker8320 Lockwood Ridge Rd > Sarasota, FL Part-time5.9mi > WalmartCashier13140 SOUTH TAMIAMI TRAIL > OSPREY, FL Part-time9.3mi > WalmartCashier2911 53rd Ave E > Bradenton, FL Part-time9.9mi > NewWal - MartGeneral Merchandise Stocker2911 53rd Ave E > Bradenton, FL Part-time9.9mi > New7-ElevenSales AssociateMultiple Locations in the Area > Bradenton, FL Part-time11mi > WalmartCashier5315 Cortez Rd W > Bradenton, FL Part-time13mi > NewWal - MartGeneral Merchandise Stocker5315 Cortez Rd W > Bradenton, FL Part-time13mi >

Guest guest
yeah, but it's not only like that in florida, other states are like that too. I posted that job search because i thought it was funny, in a sad sort of way. the few times that I do go to walmart, I look around me and I see people working there who are underpaid, some of them have college degrees. it makes me sad. they seem depressed. I do not like florida, I cannot adjust to it the nature part yes. very much. my husband likes it here he is a beach person but it is either, leave him or move to a city. for now I will not leave him and try to convince him instead to leave. I do dream that I am walking around strange magical idealistic places that is a fun dream. -anouk -anouk

I think it was foolish! to not visit florida. if anything you could've just visited moi or hung out by yourself at the beach with your girlfriend we have the whitest sand beaches, beautiful exotic birds, sea mammals winter is non-existent and my kid has worn shorts and sandals to school all of december and january it is 82 degrees right now, my little boy is playing in the sand outside with his dog and there is a lizard on my window as I type this. I don't know much about other states, florida is the only other state besides NY that I have lived. There are a lot of problems here, but it isn't soooo bad. It's backward. but there are lots of people changing that, a small group of people making a difference where a lots of hard work is needed. Here is the website for my town. http://www.vegsarasota.com/ When I first joined two years ago, there were 30 members, now there are 100+. All vegan/vegetarian, earth friendly smart peace loving animals people. Who LIVE here. Even Martin Luther King walked among the streets of the terror pit of racial hatred known as Alabama and Mississippi in the 1960's. He had a brick thrown at the back of his head. This made him stronger! It wasn't just the south, but states like NJ. When I was a little girl I got dressed up, my mom and another hispanic friend and I went to a restuarant in New Jersey we waited for a table to be seated. We stood there standing. and we waited. They would seat every white person that would come in. We stood there for the longest time, waited. Until we got the message that they were not going to serve us. This was in Clifton, NJ about 1979. We took a long bus ride back home to NY and cooked a meal. The rejection by a group of people on my validity is stilled remembered by me. If you do not come and visit Florida, you will forever have that old image and not see how a place can change it is 2006 now. It is the people that make a land just seek and find them that speak the language that your heart is saying. besides, Even though San Francisco was voted as the best city in America, I refuse to go there. Becaise I don't want to visit a place where people are segregated from reality are idealistic, spoilt and smug. SF does not reflect the rest of America! -anouk
Guest guest
I'm with you anouk; there's much progress going on here as well as everywhere else. I've lived in 7 other states and overseas and have seen good and bad in all places and all people. I personally think you find what you expect to find wherever you go. I can appreciate your bad experience in Florida Fraggle and I'm sorry its left such a bad taste in your mouth but your statement of, " Florida is a right wing bastion, filled with row upon row of subdivisions, and, for me, is pretty ickle... " sure is a blanket statement for a state you've not seen much of or been back to in so long. I live on the east coast between St. Augustine and Daytona Beach in a quiet little community that is rich with diversity and tolerance of others, we don't see many tourists here but we also don't have the gimmicks that bring them. We just have nature at her best in varying ways. I'm sure there are " right wingers " here but I'm not convinced we have any more or less than other places. Yes, we have " row upon row of subdivisions " but so does everywhere else, people all over live in row after row of houses no matter what you call it, I personally like the term neighborhood or community as it resonates closure to what this area feels like to me. We're not all about Disney and vacations but I guess that's the generalization out there. Like I said, you find what you expect to find. Maybe one day you'll come again but please leave your expectations behind ... look me up and I'll buy you a beer. Blessings from the sunshine state, *mona , " flower child " <zurumato wrote: > > > fraggle <EBbrewpunx@> wrote: > > > > Florida is a right wing bastion, filled with row upon row of > subdivisions, and, for me, is pretty ickle... > > > > we won a free vacation to florida a year ago, free flight, free > hotel, and we turned it down > > hahahahahahaha > > > Dear Fraggle, > > you don't want my opinion of course I'll give it anyway. > > I think it was foolish! > > > to not visit florida. if anything you could've just visited moi > > or hung out by yourself at the beach with your girlfriend > > we have the whitest sand beaches, beautiful exotic birds, sea mammals > winter is non-existent and > > my kid has worn shorts and sandals to school all of december and january > it is 82 degrees right now, my little boy is playing in the sand > outside with his dog > and there is a lizard on my window as I type this. > > > I don't know much about other states, florida is the only other state > besides NY > that I have lived. > There are a lot of problems here, but it isn't soooo bad. > > It's backward. but there are lots of people changing that, a small > group of people making a difference where a lots of hard work is needed. > > Here is the website for my town. http://www.vegsarasota.com/ > When I first joined two years ago, there were > 30 members, now there are 100+.
