Guest guest
On the Uncaged website it also puts Ecover in the 'bad' list for the chemicals being tested on animals! I have been using Ecover washing up liquid and washing liquid and conditioner for several years, believing it to be ethical. Can anyone recommend alternatives that are not tested on animals that are available in England? Jo
Guest guest
Hi Jo BIO-D is not tested on animals. Have a look at their website: www.biodegradable.biz Tel:01482 229 950 It's available in most of the wholefood shops in London.I'm not sure if your based in the london area. The vegan shopper is a good resource for information like this.It tells you if the product is animal free and alot of other information about both the product and the company. It's available from The Vegan Society. Regards Linda --- heartwerk <jo.heartwork wrote: > On the Uncaged website it also puts Ecover in the > 'bad' list for the > chemicals being tested on animals! Guest guest
Hi Jo, I have been using Ecover products for some time. Since reading your post I have checked the Ecover products I have. Their Hand Soap is marked Vegan and so is their Fabric Softener. I genuinely thought all their products would be Vegan, but on checking their Washing-Up Liquid the Vegan symbol is not there. I would assume that because the "Hand Soap" and "Fabric Softener" are marked with the Vegan symbol that these products would not be tested on animals. It only states "against animal testing" ? I am now going to go to the Uncaged site and read what is said about Ecover! Guest guest
Hi Teresa I think they probably are vegan ingredients but apparently they have a five-year roll for the ingredients tested on animals. Guest guest
They are vegan but according to Uncaged they use chemicals that have been tested on animals on a five year rolling basis - which is not ethical. Jo - peter VV Friday, February 02, 2007 6:16 PM Re: Ecover Products Ecover make two washing up liquids. The one with the green lid is vegan and marked on the back, but the one with the blue top is not. Their washing liquid and powers are vegan, and luckily you can now get the washing and washing up liquids in 5 litre containers from some outlets.( just carried one home, now my one arm is longer than the other one! ) The Valley Vegan.................jo <jo.heartwork wrote: Hi Teresa I think they probably are vegan ingredients but apparently they have a five-year roll for the ingredients tested on animals. Guest guest
from the UK uncaged site Ecover do not have a FCOD, they follow the ‘5 year rolling rule’, which is why they feature on the ‘bad’ list.
