Deadline Friday: Act Now to Save the Florida Panther! The National Park Service has proposed opening up crucial Florida panther habitat to off-road vehicles! Urge the Park Service to protect Florida panthers from unchecked off-road vehicle use»

Hi Fraggle,This Friday, the National Park Service will decide the fate of one of southern Florida's last stretches of untouched wild lands - Big Cypress National Preserve - home to many of the world's remaining wild Florida panthers. This is our last chance. Please submit your public comment today to save Big Cypress National Preserve and the Florida panthers that live there! The Park Service is considering giving off-road vehicles (ORVs) access to a special patchwork of swamp, prairie and cypress forest in Big Cypress called the Addition Lands – 75% of which has been determined "wilderness eligible."There are fewer than 100 Florida panthers left in the wild, and many of them depend on this protected land in Big Cypress. These beautiful animals are critically endangered under the Endangered Species Act and cannot take any added threats to their survival. The fact that the Park Service is even considering opening up the Addition Lands to ORV use is outrageous. Excessive ORV use has already destroyed large sections of Big Cypress's sensitive wetlands. Allowing unchecked ORV use in the Addition Lands will degrade one of the remaining natural wilderness areas Florida has left.Fortunately, there is a solution - and you can be a part of it. The National Park Service is currently considering management plan alternatives for Big Cypress, and one of these plans - Management Alternative F - would protect this crucial panther habitat from off-road vehicle use by designating most of the Addition lands as a Wilderness Area. Please sign our petition now to urge the National Park Service to protect and preserve this key panther habitat! The deadline for comments is this Friday - please send your public comment today!Thank you for taking action today, Rebecca Young,Care2 and ThePetitionSite team

When I see the price that you pay

I don't wanna grow up

I don't ever want to be that way

I don't wanna grow up

Seems that folks turn into things

that they never want
