Guest guest
Something I can't understand is why there's a huge gap between black and white people in the USA. Here in Brazil there would never be a "black" vegetarian society, neither any other "black" or "white" organization. My mother is 100% white, my father is 100% black. Your skin collor doen't matter. We are humans, aren't we? In my country you will find white, black and "mixed" people, but you will never find any kind of prejudice towards someone's collor (as I've said, it doesn't matter!). Guest guest
Hey! I lived in Brazil for a year (Londrina, Sao Paulo, Curitiba, Sao Caetano, Santos). It was refreshing and wonderful because no one I encountered much cared who was what color, where each color was located, and for that matter, whether people WERE different colors. Most people I met were astonished that Americans even noticed and brought it up in conversation. Let’s see: “Tenho saudades do Brasil.” (It’s been a long time, sorry, and my computer doesn’t do the diacritical markings. But my heart was in the right place.) Guest guest
Unfortunately there are still areas in the UK ( a lot are rural ) where different races are "looked down" on purely through ignorance. Conversely a lot of religious groups segregate themselves forming large communities who do not want to integrate or be part of the bigger community. Its all sad realy. Guest guest
I am not a great telly watcher. You sound like an addictive personality to have to give it up altogether, just like the drugs you mention. While I agree that there is a lot of rubbish on the television it can be interesting, informative or just pleasurably. These descriptions apply to reading books as well, but we don't hear people say they should give up reading.
