Guest guest
You have to ask Peter about the photographs. Dogs can be vegan, and healthy - also no bad breath. Guest guest
I have two labs, both are vegan and both chose it. I gave them the option of a high-quality meat food and a vegan food. I even let the veg food bowl go empty for a few hours and they bugged me for more food but wouldn't touch the meat stuff. After 2 weeks I decided they were vegan. They've been vegan almost as long as I have been, one is 11 and the other is 10. Both are so healthy and active I've had to prove to the vet that they are really as old as they are! I have consistently gotten comments from complete strangers (even the police!) who stop me when I'm walking the dogs to tell me how pretty they are, etc. Dogs are super easy to have go vegan. , " Ron " <ron.zzxx wrote: > > Was wondering how to add photos to Photos? Guest guest
That has varied over the years. I was using Nature's Recipe, but I found out about the different kinds of vit D, plus for some reason the dry version of that made the male lab have serious intestinal " issues " ...quite unpleasant. LOL I switched to Avoderm, which has avocado. That was great for their coats, however, the female developed intestinal " issues " ...still quite unpleasant. I'm now using Wow Bow, out of New York, and it seems to be working great! I also give them " extras " , they love bananas, carrots, apple slices with some peanut butter, etc. They've never needed any supplements. I do sometimes give them soymilk with nutritional yeast and powdered kelp. As gross as that sounds they really love it. LOL Really the only foods I won't let them snitch are onions and chocolate. <grin> And they adore plain baked squash. , " Tracy H. " <denise_h22 wrote: > > What food do you use? Guest guest
I was told by many " experts " that dogs should be fed a meat-based diet. And that they cannot properly digest ceggie foods or a vegan diet. I am so goign to try and get our pooches on a vegan diet now!! I mean yes our dogs LOVE IT!! But when told by opur vet and other " experts " we just shouldnt try a veggie or vegan diet *rolls eyes*. But I think I will try it. What about Vegan cats? Our cats LOVE vegatables, especially if they're steamed or cooked. But they get that with their regular cat food. I wouldnt mind trying to get our kitties vegan Mercedez

Guest guest
Taurine is the big issue with animals. Dogs make it themselves, just as humans do, which makes it a cinch. Depending on the dog, you have to watch raisins, and never give them anything with onions or chocolate...ever! My dogs love garlic, even with peanut butter, which I think is pretty gross. LOL I'm trying to transition my cats. With that you need to find vegan cat food with the taurine in it. Others on the list will probably be able to tell you better than I can. I have a cat who, if I'm not watching, will snitch, and eat, my tofu, tempeh, and even brussels sprouts. <grin> I'm currently trying the wow bow for cats, but my cats are not impressed, so I'm going to look elsewhere after I'm through with this batch...lol I've heard vegancats is a good place. I've been told by vets, and even human docs, all the negatives of a vegan diet, I switched both vets and doctors...lol The current vet has done a battery of tests and actually told me he was impressed with my " furbabies " . My cats do seem to like nori, I made a batch of dog treats with it and the cats were bugging me for some too...and they ate them! , " everett_chick08 " <Dragonheart_Kitty wrote: > > I was told by many " experts " that dogs should be fed a meat-based > diet. Guest guest
I'm not giving up but the oldest cat, aptly named Princess Catitude, is very stubborn. She doesn't even like the so-called good meat food, just loves the cheapo nasty stuff...gross smell. She does love dairy and, weirdly, corn chips. I'm hoping to transition her to vegetarian if I can. lol
