I don't know if this is kosher for Passover, but recent postings of Passover

recipes inspired me to hunt around for this. A kishka is something like a

sausage, only kosher.

Vegetarian Kishka

Recipe By : Back of Tam Tam box

Serving Size : 2 Preparation Time :

Categories : Vegan Kosher

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

-------- ------------ --------------------------------

1 box tam tams

2 medium onion

4 medium carrots

3 medium stalks of celery

2 ounces margerine

soy sauce

crushed garlic

paprika

pepper

Grind the onions, carrots, celery, and tam-tams. Mix in the margerine,

garlic, and any spices you like. Roll ingredients into aluminum foil

tube. Makes about two 10 " rolls. Bake at 425 degrees for about 40

minutes. Slice and serve.

I ate one tube last night, and froze the other. It was *very* tasty.

and also felt a bit heavy. (reminded me of being a " meatloaf " for

vegetarians!!!)

enjoy and peace,

David

Note: Tam Tams are a kosher cracker, and may be found in your

supermarket next to the matzos. If you don't keep kosher, you can

substitute a cracker of your choice. - N.B.

David (or is it Nancy?)

If you use the kosher for Passover Tam Tam crackers (they make a

rest-of-the-year version too,) and eliminated the soy sauce, this would

be suitable for Passover. BTW, that recipe has been around for ages, I

remember my mother making it at least 15 years ago, and it certainly is

delicious. I'm going to have to remember to make it myself this year.

Thanks for the reminder.
