Cantonese Dipping Sauce

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce

1/2 teaspoon dry sherry

1/2 teaspoon dark sesame oil

2 tablespoons sugar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons water

 

Combine first 4 ingredients in a small saucepan, bring to a boil over medium

heat. Dissolve cornstarch in water, and slowly add to soy mixture, stirring

constantly. Bring to a boil; cook 1 minute or until sauce thickens.

 

Yield: 1/2 cup (serving size: 1 tablespoon)
