Guest guest Posted June 27, 2000 Report Share Posted June 27, 2000 * Exported from MasterCook * Brown Beans Swedish Style Recipe By : Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 pound Idaho or Swedish beans -- dried 1/3 cup white vinegar 1/3 cup molasses 1 teaspoon salt 1/3 cup heavy cream (optional) Bring 6 cups water to a boil in kettle or dutch oven. Add washed beans and boil 2 minutes. Cover, remove from heat and let stand 1 hur. Drain and put in cooker with 1 cup water, vinegar, molasses and salt. Cover and cook on low 10 to 12 hours, or High 6 hours. Stir occasionally. Stir in cream or water if too thick. Beans will have a mild sweet and sour taste.
