Guest guest Posted August 14, 2000 Report Share Posted August 14, 2000 * Exported from MasterCook * Bechamel Sauce with Soy Milk (Saltsa Bessamel me Soyia) Recipe By :Greek Vegetarian Cooking - Alkmini Chaitow Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 10 tablespoons wholewheat pastry flour 8 tablespoons butter or margarine 1 pint soy milk 1 pint hot water -- mixed with the soy milk 3 whole eggs 1 egg yolk 6 tablespoons grated hard cheese sea salt and freshly ground black pepper Place the flour and butter in a nonstick frying pan over medium heat. Mix to a smooth consistency and add the mixed soymilk and water, stirring continuously. The final consistency should be thick but not solid (add a little more soymilk mixed with water if necessary). Remove from the heat and add the eggs, cheese, salt and pepper and mix well.
