Guest guest
odwalla is a juice company out here on the west coast, a couple musicians started it back like 1980 er so...really good stuff i bloody well hate coca-cola... first off , i have a nasty problem with major corporations just coming in and gobbling up the competition...no one creates anymore, they just buy each other out...everything is made by like 3 damn multinationals today...sheesh and, coca-cola are just nasty lil bastards, sorta like mcdonalds, they like paint themselves as green, when they really are environmental disasters....(they only recycle a tiny percentage of the plastic bottles, etc). plus, there is the whole nazi connection(coke, just like all the other american corporations of the day, refused to divest in germany during WWII..and, while they weren't no Ford or standard oil, they still get my goat...see, there it is, a cute little fuzzy goat...hey, give that back!) fraggle " Kate Howerton " <kate.howerton wrote: >What's odwalla? Guest guest
I've heard that its the actual process of making the stuff that is not vegan. Mind you its so bad for you anyway. I was told recently that its worse for you than alcohol. Tastes pretty artificial and foul anyway (IMHO!!!). Guest guest
If you're opposing Coca-Cola for anti-corporate reasons, health reasons or taste reasons that's fine, but... I just don't want to see any misinformation spread about what's vegan and not. If a vegan wants to drink a coca-cola or light up a cigarette or something else unhealthy, that's their business. I'm just not convinced about how drinking coke is harming any other living creature besides the one drinking it. Anyone else heard any specific on the process of making coca-cola and why it *might not* be vegan? Oh, and by the Odwalla's drinks are very good and I hope the quality does not go down or ingredients changed because of the Coca-Cola thing. A good few years ago, when we used occasionally to drink coca-cola, we were on holiday, and stopped to have a drink and stretch our legs. So we put the cups on the bonnet of the car (it was an old banger) and spilt some. When we wiped it up it took the top layer of paint off!!! I think that was the last time I drank any. Guest guest
Dawn > I just don't want to see any misinformation spread about what's vegan > and not. I don't think it is misinformation. As far as I know it is processed with gelatine, so it is harming cows. A lot of soft drinks are the same. Have you written to ask Coca Cola if they are vegan? It is not in the Vegan Shopper. Guest guest
Silver Spoon is NOT ok, I believe that they are one of the worst offenders. Tate & Lyle do not use bone char, but Angie's point is well made. Billington's is ok & available at Tesco. Personally I use stewed dates for cooking and in porridge and maple syrup for pouring. Never use processed sugar at all at home (though I do occasionally eat chocolate and other processed foods). Haven't had any caries-induced dental treatment for several years (only replacement of false cusps due to wear & tear on the synthetic material).
