I have put in serious complaints of libel, racism and harrassment to and the offenders e-mail servers - they have been e-mailing me privately and harrassing me - stating that I have threatened them with bombs and all sorts of other stuff - they have also been writing to other e-mail lists with this information. Over the weekend I will be seeking advice from the police over whether they can do anything with regard to the racism and harrassment (I believe libel would be down to me to sue). FWIW, all of their e-mail addresses ended in spacerobots.org - I'm not 100% sure (as I'm not very good on PCs), but I believe you can see photographs of our 4 offenders if you visit the www.spacerobots.org website! I think we've now resolved the main problem anyway - but I will leave the list on full moderation for a couple of days just to make sure - I know this is a bit of a nuisance for everyone, but I still think it preferable to getting the sort of e-mails they've been trying to send to the list - sorry :-(. LOL =) Have you thought about just putting new members on moderated status for a few days or setting the list so you have to approve the new members? I run a list called mom2boys and even before the ppl are allowed to be approved I make them send in an intro and usually 1 of 3 things happens. 1. the person sends in a good intro and isn't weird and creepy. 2. the person never sends in an intro and I deny their subscription request after 3 days. 3. The person unsubs after the auto-request for an intro. It's really made for a lot less of a hassle with issues like this cuz you wouldn't believe some of the creepy things I've seen posted on other groups for parents. The worst I'll do is completely ignore you!! :-) Just so you and other new folk understand, the list has been completely unmoderated until this unfortunate incident - when it errupted, I felt I had to do something quick, and the quickest thing was to moderate the whole list - this was only ever intended as a temporary measure, and regular folk will soon be back to posting freely. This'll make you laugh, though - one of the people who got banned for being very offensive has written to me 3 times asking why, and saying that he didn't think he'd done anything wrong.
