Guest guest
Hello all, I am new on here... I have found a great recipe for spicy vegetable stew, but it contains cream. What have people found to be the best vegan substitute for cream. I have found that many non-dairy products still contain cassein. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Guest guest
Why don't you try just leaving the cream out? Apols if you already have! Guest guest
Em Provamel to a cream called Soya Dream. It works in recipes just like 'proper' cream, but I don't know if you can get it in the States. For thickening, red lentils are good, as long as you cook them a little longer than normal, and you could always substitute some soya milk for a little of the stock. Jo > I am new on here... Guest guest
Try Soy Milk, if you can get it in powdered form you can mix to your disired consistancy or if not simmer to remove excess liquid Paul
