They are quite good - I'd say worth trying. Our local Food For Thought holds reasonably good stocks, but they won't do special orders - they won't even save items for you, but I enjoy going to Brighton anyway. Guest guest
I come across a simular sort of thing produced by company called Galaxy in my local heath shop here in Edinburgh. I haven't tried it because its not my sort of thing but there were two types and both looked like flat sheets of putty. If you want more information I will get details when I next shop. Just an FYI, Galaxy foods aren't vegan. They contain casein. Talisman
Guest guest
I'm unlikely to ever eat this stuff but I thought it said non-dairy but I will look again. I don't get it. Speaking of which, why the hell would anyone create a non dairy cheese but put casein in it..that kinda defeats the purpose,no? Yes and No. Casein gives it the ability to " act " like cheese...it melts it, it shreds etc.. yet has none of the allergenic properties that one who is allergic to dairy would encouter with regular cheese. So I think mostly they are marketing for lactose allergies vs. vegans since vegans are such a minority. Talisman
