Guest guest
> There is one question still unanswered - what do Satanists believe/practice. > D o you know. > > Jo ok Jo... in your own words..ah yes,but...hehe..yeah,this might take awhile, but I'll give you Satanism 101. I'll start with the 9 Satanic Statements. And again, keep in mind, " Satan " isn't being used to describe a big acary horned dude with a pointy tail and a pitchfork, but merely as a symbol for all of the followoing philosophies. 1. Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence!(not necessarily in the literal sense..meaning basically, religions strive to put limits on you..Satanic philosophy says you should do what YOU feel is right, not live up to some prewritten standards. As the saying goes, and I live by this next sentence to its full extent:Do as thou wilt shall be the whole of the law) 2. Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams! 3. Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self- deceit! 4. Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates! 5. Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek! 6. Satan represents responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for psychic vampires! 7. Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his " divine spiritual and intellectual development, " has become the most vicious animal of all! 8. Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification! 9. Satan has been the best friend the Church has ever had, as He has kept it in business all these years! there's lots more I can go into, but those are the basics..if you have any questions, feel free. Guest guest
Hi Chris Interesting info... > And again, keep in mind, " Satan " isn't being used to > describe a big acary horned dude with a pointy tail and a > pitchfork So I should think - he's known as Neptune, isn't he? Or possibly Old Nick. > Do as thou > wilt shall be the whole of the law) I always find this ironic - this is one of Crowley's fantastic inventions. Unfortunately what people forget is that it is drawn from a much older ethic with the most important part chopped off.....*An it harm none* do what thou wilt. > 2. Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams! > 4. Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love > wasted on ingrates! > 5. Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek! > 6. Satan represents responsibility to the responsible instead of > concern for psychic vampires! Hmmm - in the UK we call this Thatcherism! > 3. Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self- > deceit! Interesting - how does the church of Satan recommend this wisdom should be achieved? > 7. Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, > more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of > his " divine spiritual and intellectual development, " has become the > most vicious animal of all! Again - interesting. I'd actually say that humanity has become vicious because of a removal of spiritual and intellectual connection! > 8. Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to > physical, mental, or emotional gratification! I like the irony - the original meaning of the word " sin " being " that which makes us uncomfortable with ourselves " :-) > 9. Satan has been the best friend the Church has ever had, as He has > kept it in business all these years! I reckon the relationship is symbiotic. BB Peter --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
Chris Thanks - you've gone to a lot of trouble. > 1. As the saying > goes, and I live by this next sentence to its full extent:Do as thou > wilt shall be the whole of the law) Basically, this is a Pagan ethic, but I must point out that the saying originally was ....an it harm none, do as though wilt.... until, I believe, Alistair Crowley decided to leave out half of it. > 2. Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams! I'm not sure what this means - do you have an example? > > 3. Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self- > deceit! I'm also not sure why this is attributed to Satan alone. > 4. Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to > physical, mental, or emotional gratification! presumably this is why they removed the ...an it harm none? It seems to be a reaction to Christianity, but in my opinion, not a very wise one. If you are going to just please yourself there is a very big chance that you are going to be hurting other people. With regard to point 8, one scenario that presents itself to me is 'lust'. If a Satanist lusts after your partner, how does he act on it? Does it just give him mental gratification, or does he rape her for physical gratification? ... or have I got the wrong meaning of point 8? Jo --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
Jo, > Thanks - you've gone to a lot of trouble. no problem, and it's not trouble,as I know this stuff like the back of my hand, and I rather enjoy discussing it,so no biggie at all! > > 2. Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams! > > I'm not sure what this means - do you have an example? basically,it represents life..what you can see, what is tangible, not some mysterious unseen mythical deities in the sky..it's basically saying...don't be an idiot, believe in what is real, not what has been drilled into your head--think for yourself! > > 3. Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self- > > deceit! > > I'm also not sure why this is attributed to Satan alone. you misunderstand..it is not attributed to Satan...again,Satan is just a word used to sum up *sll* of these philosophies..you could call it Snarfle and it would be the same thing. > It seems to be a reaction to Christianity, but in my opinion, not a very > wise one. Rape is wrong,as one of the Satanic Rules of Earth is " Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal. " ,as well as it is harming another when unprovoked. Guest guest
Chris Thanks for your explanations - as you can see I have never given any thought to Satanism before.
