Guest guest
Nature is neither cruel or kind, just practical. Guest guest
The primary difference, aside from the blind poodle on the tundra referance, dogs and cats have been domesticated for thousands of years. Most of the people I know have animals adopted from shelters that would have died at the hand of man....A lion will not usually accept a person as part of its pride, unless it is for a dinner engagement. Biologically Felines are a true carnivore, If you attempt to Veganise them you must enclude a dietary suppliment. In a perfect world, without 6 billion people, I would have no problem with the wild and free idea. A cat will still leave a dead mouse as a gift on the doorstep and a dog will still try to eat a cat(if they can still see, the blind ones get laughed at). Paul Nature is sacred, You Cannot improve it, If you try to change it you will ruin it, If you try to hold it you will lose it. I doubt it! also it could be argued that we humans have no right to befriend any animal on the planet, that we should leave them to their own device including cats, dogs horses etc, If it is wrong to try and vegemite a lion for instants, why would it be right to veganize a cat or dog? > Sp,
Guest guest
Unfortunately , the dog/cat problem already exists and to some extent the animals concerned choose to stay My cats can leave home (a few have done ) and so can the dog. Why can we not befriend an animal? . It might be to mutual bebefit -as long as the animal has a choice in the matter. We befriend some of our own species ,why not extend it .. I disagree with mass production of cats and dogs for human use but if an injured bird needed help who wouldn't provide it for a few days ? - Simon pJones Friday, March 01, 2002 6:50 PM vegananimals It could be argued what right do we humans have to take a cat or a dog and domesticate them and would they be vegan in the wild?
