Guest guest
Hi Anne Sorry to hear about the gas. Apples do it for me - I just have to time when I eat them! Although they are okay juiced. You can use nuts, lentils, rice, millet, barley etc for protein. I cannot eat normal wheat but can eat spelt, which makes delicious bread, and actually has more protein than the other wheats used nowadays. Jo okay...i'm a vegan who can't eat sugar, wheat, or flour. so most of what i eat for protein is soy or other beans....which is fine with me except for the fact that it gives me really nasty gas.....i'm eating soy about 3 times/day. i read on here that beano contains gelatin. damn. has anyone else experienced this?? what do you do?? something's gotta change MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: Click HereTo send an email to -
Guest guest
What a nightmare! -Soy isn't all it's cracked up to be!? I feel like I've been shiested! Not only that but I have been giving my infant soy formula in her food for " added " nutrition ever since she's been eating solid foods! According to thedoctorwithin.com soy is not only not a whole protein but soy is so processed that it is not even a natural food, NOW WHAT! Greetings - send holiday greetings for Easter, Passover http://greetings./
Guest guest
What is a whole protein? A word to scare people into eating meat ! My sons were brought up without soya products as there was only powdered soya milk available till aged 10 roughly. ( Vegans ) and they have never liked the taste or texture of any of the soya cheeses or meat substitutes with the exception of soya mince They are 21 and 19 now . Don't worry about it if your child is healthy cows and sheep manage without soya ! - " Laura Wilson " <lauraw127 Sunday, March 31, 2002 5:45 AM RE: too much soy...please help > What a nightmare! > -Soy isn't all it's cracked up to be!? > I feel like I've been shiested! Guest guest
Hi Laura, got to notmilk.com and that guy sells a soymilk making machine called the SoyToy. It uses dry soybeans, that you can buy at the healthfood store, and water and it makes creamy soymilk. No ingredients other than beans and water. I think the machine cost around $200, but it makes natural soymilk for only pennies a quart. It makes two quarts in one sitting. That would eliminate all those bad ingredients and the processing that store bought soymilk goes through. In health ... Guest guest
Have you tried making your own almond milk? That's very tasty and very nutricious too. Soak quite a few almonds overnight, rinse, peel off the skins, put into a blender with some water and perhaps a vanilla pod, whizz up and hey presto - almond milk! Rice milk is better for you than soya milk and most supermarkets and health food stores sell it, especially the Rice Dream brand.
