Guest guest
Hello, I'm a brand new mwmber to this group. I have been a vegetarian since grade 6, and recently due to eczema have eliminated milk producds from ny diet. The problem is my body is REALLY not adjusting well, I'm tired all the time, take naps that last 6 hours, and get sick quick. I'm eating alot of nuts and taking a super mulitivitamin/mineral but my body is not feeling well. I'm at a point of crying and thought maybe other vegans could help me. I REALLY REALLY hate having eczema but I don't know if my body is ready to handle not having milk products.. Thanks for any suggestions! Guest guest
there is no medical reason that yer body should need milk based products, unless you happen to be 8 months old... are you eating a well balanced diet? lots of greens and such? plenty of calcium rich foods? do you exercise? what is your daily regimen? what do you usually eat? giving up milk wasn't much of a problem fer lil ol me, but then, i found cheese absolutely nasty also now, seafood, that was tuff!!!! wish you well fraggle " sharihayne " <sharihayne wrote: >Hello, I'm a brand new mwmber to this group. > >I have been a vegetarian since grade 6, and recently due to eczema >have eliminated milk producds from ny diet. I'm not very well up on nutrition, but have you considered the possibility of other allergies? Maybe you're eating more of something now that you're allergic to (wheat is often a big allergy-causer). Guest guest
Thanks everyone for caring. It's a few days later and I'm feeling much better. I'm drinking soy milk, eating tofu, and lots of nuts. I think I have to cahnge my eating habits alot though to make sure I'm getting all my nutrients. As for B12 it is fortified in soy milk and also in my multi vitiman. Thanks for all the suggestions, and more suggestions on how to make simple vegan snacks? Thanks Shari (as for the gender neutral name.. I'm female and a 19 year ol) I didn't think males were ever named Shari Thanks again , " Peter " <Snowbow@b...> wrote: > Hi Shari > > > Hello, I'm a brand new mwmber to this group. > > Welcome :-) > > > I have been a vegetarian since grade 6, and recently due to eczema > > have eliminated milk producds from ny diet. Guest guest
Thanks Fraggle... Fruit has always been my favorite food, so eating more is not a problem. It is just a hassle when I'm busy trying to catch a quick snack because alot of people can just order food... but I mean they aren't eating too healthy! How do you do the peanut butter and nuts thing? Just take a spoon or something and roll it in nuts?? I was thinking of trying to make my own granola bars. WEll thanks for the advice Have a wonderful day, Shari , EBbrewpunx@c... wrote: > vegan snacks?? > well, there is always fruit!!! > simple and portable..and premade!! woohoo!! > > granola > peanut butter rolled in yer fave nuts > ummmm > *scratches head* > i'm sorta lazy i guess and just either eat fruit er pick up some luna bars!! > > someone, help the lady out more then i can!!! > > just remember..a varied balanced diet is key!!! don't just eat the same things..mix it up...lotsa of veggies, fruit, rice, nuts, etc > > cheers > fraggle > > > " sharihayne " <sharihayne@h...> wrote: > > >Thanks everyone for caring. Guest guest
wot use to be tasty is to take peanut butter...in a spoon, and drop it in a pile of crushed nuts..then freeze it... but, haven't done it in awhile..lazy ol me yeah, " those folks " might be able to order food quickly, or wotever, or just eat anything..but, they are paying for it aren't they..in bad health, obesity, heart disease, etc...and we are paying for it with degraded environments, higher health costs, and on and on and on fraggle " sharihayne " <sharihayne wrote: >Thanks Fraggle... >Fruit has always been my favorite food, so eating more is not a >problem.
