Almost all the vegans I know have at least some mix of new and used clothing, but tend towards used (almost everything I have is used). I don't know about the US, but Canada (at least Ontario) has Value Village, which sells great second hand stuff (though they've jacked up prices in the last couple of years). I buy all of my work clothes there. _______________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp.
Guest guest
I'm not very knowledgeable about second-hand clothes shops but a lot of them round here are for things like The British Heart Foundation, and Imperial Cancer Research - so I wouldn't buy anything there because it would support animal research. Guest guest
Good point, Jo. I'm more fortunate where I am because a lot of the thrift stores here are place-of-worship based and we even have one that is connected to an animal rescue. Yay! But yeah, there are A LOT of them that support various unsavory causes. As is the case with any charity sytem... --jojo - Jo Saturday, April 20, 2002 4:02 AM Re: Used Clothing/New Clothing I'm not very knowledgeable about second-hand clothes shops but a lot of themround here are for things like The British Heart Foundation, and ImperialCancer Research - so I wouldn't buy anything there because it would supportanimal research.Jo
