Guest guest
B " H I never much liked milk itself, but I love ice cream. I just substituted soy and rice " dairy " -- As for sugar, I'm pre-diabetic and my father's diabetic, so I use stevia. I make my own cookies, cake and even fudge (I have a recipe for the fudge on my web site -- at http://home.earthlink.net/~compugraphd/Sun_cookbook.html Debbie Hi everyone! I'm really new to veganism & just had a couple of questions. I didn't have a problem giving up meat, but I feel almost " addicted " to milk. I get really bad cravings for it (I was drinking 1 litre a day, and have recently cut back a lot). I actually found it easier to quit smoking after 7 years, than give up dairy. Is cold turkey the best way to deal with this? I also have quite the sweet tooth and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good book for cutting back on sugar. Thanks, Kelly
Guest guest
Hi Kelly, congratulations on giving up meat and welcome to our group. Think of milk as liquid meat, pus or bodily animal fluid ... like piss. Besides everything else in it .... it contains a substance called casomorphine, which is what makes it so addictive. Substitute sweet berries and fruit for sugar ... that would help you alot. I eat only fruit all day long until I get home from work. Then I eat one big salad and a big bowl of steamed vegies ... no salt, no fat and no grains. I pretty much eat the same every day, except on weekends, when I have time to shop for more exotic fruits and vegies. At age 55, 5'6", I weigh in at 140 lbs. Also without salt or fat in my diet, I tolerate the heat of summer extremely well .... Paradise is where I am ... Werner. ---- Wednesday, June 26, 2002 5:47:47 PM Almost vegan Hi everyone! Guest guest
--- Just commenting on the meaning of the word dominion when used in Genesis1; that EBbrewpunx@ made; .. as some people also interpret the meaning of the word to include eating the animals as well as abusing them, surely the second to last sentence in Gen 1;29: should clear this up, when saying Quote(''everything that has the breath of life in it ,that shall be theirs for food'')re; to plants)a lot of creatures have the breath of life in them!
