Guest guest
Thanks for asking about Speedway JoJo. We are fighting the good fight. She is doing great from her surgery - at 5 weeks with no tumor reoccurance (for those of you with kitties, please educate yourself about kitty vaccines and the incidents of vaccine associated sacromas - www.catshots.com is a good site - we are over vaccinating and the drug companies know it - they are reimbursing people for their cat's cancer treatments SO LONG as they sign waivers not to sue - why not fix the issue?? - because to give up 22 million++ shots every year for those two years that shots aren't necessary is more of a loss than to pay 22,000 people the max reimbursement of $1,500 - pure economics and greed). Unfortunately while we were in DC she was diagnosed as being in final stage congestive heart failure - given 2-6 monthswith 6 months being considered amazing so of course we are shooting for one year (thank god I had taken her with me - she travels like a dog so traveling is no stress on her whatsoever). Other than having been handed a death sentence by the vets, she seems wonderful - I got a/c for her and she is breathing good, eating good, tormenting the dogs and being her normal 'ole self. We had a holistic vet appointment this Wed. for her cancer and are keeping that even in light of the heart - figure whole body treatment can't hurt. Her last surgery was her last surgery so that is why I looked into holistics (she is 17 and I just can't see continually doing spot tumor removers to her and now with the heart issue I'm glad we did the one last extreme surgery since I definetely won't be putting her under for anything more). Again, please, if you have cats, educate yourself before going to get that next round of shots. Not advocating don't ever vaccinate but definetely know the issues and NEVER EVER EVER let any vet give your cat their shots in the scruff of the neck!!!! ________________________________ The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated. - Mahatma Gandhi The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it. - Albert Einstein

Guest guest
Hey Pam, It sounds like your kitty still has plenty of zest for life left Sam, my boy pug, started bleeding out of his mouth so I took him to have his teeth cleaned and as it turns out, he has a mouth full of cancer. Melanoma they tell us. He's doing great, though, all things considered. We're just keeping him happy and comfortable and hoping for the best. It looks like Rhesus, my girl pug who was given a life expectancy of 7 years due to a liver deformity, is going to outlive yet ANOTHER companion as she will be celebrating her 13th birthday this month, God bless her! Thank you for the info on the cat vaccinations. I always felt that the majority of vaccinations given were a load of bunk anyway. Good luck with Speedway. Give her lots of love and attention -- that is the best medicine there is! -- jojo - Pgh Pam Monday, July 08, 2002 6:10 PM My kitty . . . Thanks for asking about Speedway JoJo. Guest guest
sorry fraggle. Your kitty will probably tell you what to do if you listen to him. And I'm sure that you do. It's hard to explain to someone who doesn't speak your language (who is already not feeling well) that such unpleasant activities like getting shots are for their own good. And I think kitties tend to be more freaked out about visits to the vet than dogs are, anyway. Just keem him comfy as best you can Maybe the doc can prescribe some anti-nausea meds? Will your kitty take meds? Good luck, fraggle -- give you kitty lots of belly rubs or chin scratches or whatever it is that your particular kitty likes best --jojo - <EBbrewpunx Tuesday, July 09, 2002 8:20 AM RE: My kitty . . . > i hope fer the best fer you and the child pam.. > > i think the kittie who lives with me is about to get sick again...he's been with me a looong time..and last yr his kidneys supposedly stopped working..took him to the vet, stayed in the hospital fer a week...he came out, and i was suppose to bring him in every week and give him shots several times a day > well, we both hated the shots, and i stopped doing it after the first couple days..he has been fine , up until this week, where he started puking up his food again > > *sigh* > i'm not sure wot i'm gonna do... > fraggle > > > " Pgh Pam " <pghpam wrote: > > >Thanks for asking about Speedway JoJo. Guest guest
Hi, Kidney troubles: because of the cheap food we buy at the corner market. They add ashes in it. My own cat died from it a couple of weeks ago, because I was short on budget. If we had vegan cats, we would not have any problems. :-) Julie - Heartwork Wednesday, July 10, 2002 4:38 PM Re: My kitty . . . Hi FraggleSorry to hear your cat is not well. Guest guest
It's my pug (dog). He's on non-narcotic painkillers and antibiotics. The antibiotics are almost done, so soon it will just be painkillers. Pam's kitty is sick. And so is fraggle's. Thanks for asking, Jo He's doing just fine right now, even though his mouth looks pretty scary. Pets don't seem to feel sorry for themselves like people do. Sam was wagging his fat, curly tail like mad last night. He's a trooper. -- jojo - Heartwork Wednesday, July 10, 2002 1:37 PM Re: My kitty . . . Jojo Sorry to har about your cat. BBJo - jojo Saturday, July 13, 2002 7:23 PM Re: My kitty . . . ? I just meant that animals don't allow a little pain to stop them from enjoying life or use it as a reason to be nasty to others. I didn't mean we should all be like martyrs swimming in our own pools of dispair, suffering alone. And as for the forgiving bit, no one can hold a grudge quite like a human (especially the ones in my family for some reason...) I think humans are vengeful and unforgiving with the exception of a very few. Look at what has been done to Afghanistan et al. And look how many people are still waving their American flags. -- jojo - Heartwork Friday, July 12, 2002 11:16 AM Re: My kitty . . . Hi Jojo And they are so forgiving, too! We could learn a lot...
