Guest guest
Hey Dale, That was awefully nice of you to make that tutorial. I have also been wondering of an alternative to cheese cloth. I did buy hemp sprout bags recently and was successful growing nice sprouts but I think I am going to use your idea too. I already own the wide mouth mason jars and already had plans for wal-mart anyway! Dale, this is fabulous. I'm an old hand at sprouting, using old pantyhose to cover the top of the jar with a rubber band off brocolli to hold it in place. I really like your idea best. Seems like it's easy to clean and perhaps more sanitary. I'm going to WalMart today and will get some of the plastic. Thanks!!! Guest guest
I've used sprouting jars, as well as automatic sprouters, but I much prefer " The Sprout House, " which I've been using now for several years on my kitchen counter. The tender sprouts have more room to grow in it rather than being crowded in a jar. You can get " The Sprout House " kit online at: http://www.sprouthouse.com/sprouters.htm The kit comes with four trial samples of their most popular organic sprouting seeds. I'd also recommend getting a book with detailed instructions, available on the same site: " Sprouts, the Miracle Food " by Steve Meyerowitz -- The Complete Guide to Sprouting. - Janet
