Guest guest
I dont post often, but really shouldn't we just get off of disagreeing with one another and just accept that some of us are different spots and as with everything there is not just one way to eat raw?? We all have come to this group to fellowship with others that are raw and to get tha extra bit of support. We shouldn't be arguing with one another or making each other feel bad. Someone (a friend of mine) has left this list due to all the negative comments from a few. Is that the point of this group?? If it is I will make sure I get off also. not all of us are going to be mono raw foodists...some of us have family that we need to care for and we need to do recipes so spouse, kids, etc. can also be ok with it. Others maybe just for themself want recipes, maybe some are just getting into raw, and just eating plain fruits and veggies are boring... I am not saying that is bad though to defend the other side. personally I am caught in the middle, I eat all greens and green juices because I am trying to clear up candida, but my hubby and kids eat raw foods made from recipes and it works for them!!! So why not offer support to everybody at WHEREVER they are at in their raw food journey instead of trying to make others feel badly just because they are not doing the same thing that you are!! Guest guest
There would be no point in having a forum if everyone agreed. If you want to avoid hurt try coming dispassionately; then you may find richness! Hi Denise, and ALL, I couldn't agree with you more, Denise! I happen to love recipes and often read them and use them as springboards to my own variations and creations, none of which I could duplicate exactly. That's some of their charm. I was purusing THE COMPLETE BOOK OF JUICING and think it's a terrific book. What I will do is to not juice the suggested combinations, but rather to blend them in my Vita-Mix and have soups. I have a Green Power juicer. It's *supposed* to be top of the line. I've had it a few years and haven't used in at least two years. It's WAY too much for me to want to deal with cleaning, size, etc. I tend to have a very relaxed attitude about raw foods. Whatever anyone else wants to do is FINE with me. I feel no need to challenge their *correctness*, nor do I feel a need to defend my own approach. I know that when I fall off the *rawagon* I do not feel as good as when I eat *right* (for me). I have a feeling that the mother of twins who first brought up the subject of acceptance may no longer be on this list. I've been watching for posts from her, but haven't seen any. I think we could have learned MUCH from her about how to do *raw* while raising two small children. I miss her voice. I think that it's of primary importance that this forum be one of welcoming acceptance. We can seek wisdom from one another. We can offer advice (if asked for). We can share our stories. And we can give thanks for this medium that allows us this kind of communication. Bright Blessings, Christina
Guest guest
Paul Drayton on his webiste on creating a meaningful life includes a short article entitled " How to never have another argument " . It is a good read. In it he writes about differing viewpoints. It is applicable to our raw food discussions in this forum. Guest guest
Hats off, Orionsdad, An excellent read so good that I hardly needed to finish it. In throwing cocktail parties I have found a joy in mixing people of totally different worlds and see the chemistry that comes out. A teenager with an army general, a businessman with a monk etc. Recipes interest me as much as the book of Deuteronomy in the Bible but that does not stop me from appreciating the Bible, Buddha and this forum and every conflict that catches my eye.
